Was it 'Trilogy of Terror' (1975) -- Dan Curtis' production with Karen Black in three stories, the third being a Richard Matheson story in which she is terrorized by a vicious African wooden doll.
i was having this conversation with my sisters the other day and she mentioned one that was set in space. What happened was some guys went to a spaceship and it was hell or it was the peoples version of hell. Does that sound familuar to anyone, i have trying to find it and its bothering me!?
Last film i saw that freaked me out was the hills have eyes. Having mesed up kiRAB isnt right!
Thanks aliasjones you just made my day that's the one I recognise the doll on the cover lol, that thing still gives me the creeps now. It was'nt the fact the film was horrific or gory, but that doll was downright menacing lol.
I saw the original Exorcist when I was 14. Since I was a nervous lassie I didn't sleep for about 2 days afterwarRAB. Bearing in mind this was during the time of the moving statutes malarkey so I think I was in a paranoid state anyway.
I watched it recently for the first time after hearing people on forums (and my husband) going on about how scary it was... unfortunately for me, it wasn't! Which makes me worry I'm becoming jaded about these types of films.
Another TV movie that scared the crap out of me was "Dead of Night", an anthology of three stories. I can't remember much about the first two stories but the last one, "Bobby" was about a mother grieving for her son who'd drowned and comes back to her, albeit somewhat changed. It had such a horrible ending that I had to sleep in my parents' bedroom that night .
The other one I'd forgotten about was the original TV version of "Salem's Lot". There were a few seriously scary moments in that, particularly the jail cell scene where you see Mr Barlow for the first time !
Yes, sounRAB like Event Horizon. I asked a friend of mine what he thought was the worst film ever made and he said "when people ask me that I usually say Girl on a Motorcycle or Event Horizon. It is quite a bad film - a promising idea that doesn't go anywhere interesting.
1978 version of Halloween. Scares the shit outa me. I love the scenewhen Laurie stoude has found her frienRAB dead in the wallace house. As she backs out of the bedroom terified you see Michael myers appear from the doorway/cupboard behind her. So scary!! A John Carpenter Classic
I must've seen that film about 15 times and it still terrifies me and I can feel myself sweating and my heart going mad! Scariest film I think I've ever seen I think that Halloween II is pretty scary too though....never watch them alone!
One horror movie that really does stick out to me and not many will have heard of it, as it was originally banned back in the 80's but is now back out with a few cuts (available on DVD) was one called MADMAN. About a farmer that killed all his family, supposedly based on fact. The film goes on about if you call his name then he will come calling for you.
Run of the mill horror such as FRiday the 13th, but what made this film stand out was the way it was made, unlike a lot of the CGI rubbish that is thrown out of hollywood these days.
Madman was done all with hand on prosthetics and puppetry but was scary as hell the way it was made.
Great movie if you like to be scared, but original was a lot better because it was uncut.
