Most popular anime in America

It's especially true it's the biggest because of who it's targeted too. At the point the kiRAB that started when it first came out here are over 10 years older now. To keep turning it over to new kiRAB year after year it's doing something right.

I wonder how many viewers are are 16-20 now who just kept watching.

I told you to give me suggestions if I missed one. That is a very good suggestion that I missed. Darnit. DBZ and Pokemon pretty much have this by a land slide.

Another vote for Pokemon. You want proof, today Cartoon Network aired an all day Pokemon marathon, and as of late, they have become anti anime.

Pokemon is so popular that the anime hating Cartoon Network has no choice but to air it and promote it as well as they do their non anime shows.

Haha, Not sure what you mean by "good english adaption" there, but it did get by with a little bit more in terms of censorship, thats for sure.

And on the topic, I have to go with the Pokeymans.

Even though it is mostly known for the games, I think the anime its self, at the height, was more popular than DBZ, even with its massive success on Toonami.

It's hard to believe how popular DBZ and Pokemon have become over the years. They're consistently the top anime properties in the US. They have both been on TV for 10+ years though it looks as though DBZ has taken a break. The refeshed DBZ anime may air here but that's still a long ways away. These 2 are truly anime goRAB.

I don't know how many older viewers for Pokemon are out there, but I would think a good amount since there are people around those ages still discuss the show on some forums. Of course, I'm also in that age range too.

I don't think that CN hates anime. While they don't have as much of it on their lineup as they used to, I don't think that's the same thing as hating anime. If they really did hate anime, I don't think that they would be giving Pokemon such good treatment. Besides, it isn't like they're playing Pokemon against their will. It still gets great ratings and even if it wasn't an anime, if a series does well enough for them, I don't think that they would treat it so poorly.

The answer's fairly obvious, I think. It's that pokey-mans show.

I'm curious how corabining three unrelated series and then majorly rewriting said series in order to make them fit together makes for a "good" adaption.

Pokemon, with Dragon Ball Z close behind.

Dragon Ball Z is one of the few anime series that remains to stay alive and popular in the US. Even after 10 years, products are still being sold, kiRAB still know about it, etc. For awhile it was the only cel-animated series on Cartoon Network. Too bad the same can't be said for Sailor Moon.

As for Pokemon... well, it's Pokemon. It's proven to be a fad that continues to live on. Eat your heart out Yu-Gi-Oh.

Toss up between DBZ and Pokemon. Both are still going strong and have large, active fandoms. It's too bad Sailor Moon is no longer available and probably never will be again :/

I may be biased, but I will go with Pokemon as well. For one, it's still one of the few animes that still airs (plus at a decent hour of the day). And the games are still very succesful, so I'm going to guess that Pokemon still gets a pretty good audience even now.
