"Most Of The Religious Right Are Not Stupid, Just Willfully Ignorant"

in the south? there are plenty of atheists? that's news to me. I would assume that they are highly disliked and berated, probably harassed - I would probably be angry too in some ways. They are most likely the smallest minority around.

yes, scientists are always testing new theories and checking their work. That is in no way accepting anything uncritically - and atheism/science are not "beliefs"

You misunderstand.

in other ways too - saying the US is a Christian Nation. That's not true. Wanting "In god We Trust" on our money and in our courthouses - that's unnecessary and religion bias. Putting Under god in our pledge (which is sort of ridiculous to begin with) in the 50s. Etc.

The difference between Ron Paul and the other bible-thumpers that fill the Republican Party to the brim is the fact that he does not base his campaign on his religious beliefs, and considering that nearly every other Republican candidate does, it buys Ron Paul more respect in my book. I don't need to see Michelle Bachmann pushing off her religious beliefs and biases onto everyone while she's giving speeches and campaigning for a presidential position, it makes me fucking sick.

Chitown B left this comment on that page:The Gene Pool, from witch we get our smart candidates from, gets smaller every year. We are Doooomed..

maybe in your eyes. There is a difference between being bias towarRAB facts and sticking behind them, and being bias towarRAB irrational beliefs. One is more correct than the other, if all else is equal, because of facts.

and this is why this forum is worthless. no one can have a discussion without just spouting their side and not listening. Or actually reading and thinking about something that is posted, without maintaining their bias. Flame on.

Well, since he's somehow less willfully ignorant than McCain, then, uh... well, uh...

See my first post in this thread. His religion is about to become clear.
