Just because I live in Chicago currently doesn't mean I think everything the President says and does is correct. I'm not sure why you think that I do - I've said this. He's not outwardly implementing anything religious into anything important in government, and on the contrary things like don't ask don't tell are getting repealed. He says "God Bless" because almost every single president ever, has. And it's the majority by a long shot. Of course I know atheists who say god bless you when people sneeze - it's a cultural thing. It's more like saying "May good fortune befall you" than anything else. He even gave a shout out to nonbelievers in the inauguration, which was great and never happens.

However, he does things that I think are not good as well, and among those are things you've mentioned. You painting me as a total Obama lover just because of where I live is similar to painting me as a crazy atheist because I dare to speak up against the masses.

And to preemptively reply to the response I'm sure I'll get about "where I live" - no, I don't think just because you live in the south automatically makes you a crazy christian or intolerant.
 
No, I paint you that way because you support just about every program that Obama does and don't criticize him. It has NOTHING to do with where you live.

There are plenty of Obamabots out there who live no where near Chicago.

No, I don't. I said there are a lot fewer atheists which in turn does make the majority theists - but that's anywhere. Nowhere do I say anything about if you live there you are a theist for sure.

And I never post in this forum at all anymore, and haven't for a long long time - so how do you know what I support and what I don't? You'd better have posts to back it up.
 
You're still missing the point. It isn't about whether there is proof or not or who's right and who's wrong. It's about the mentality of the individuals holding the argument. Both believe in their side to such a degree that there isn't the slightest possibility that the other side could be right. Their belief is infallible, that's all they know and that's all they care about.

Just admit you are a political hypocrite and this entire thread was the veiled attack on non-Democrats from the point of view of Atheism and that you, like the person you quoted in the original post, turn a blind eye towarRAB Obama, who is just as religious, if not more so, than those listed in the OP.
 
Watch the fucking video you moron. He was answering a question of if he believed that God created everything or man evolved out of nothing.

It was a question about "evolution" of not just man, which deals with just the theory of evolution of species, which is what you are alluding to, but also how the whole universe started, which is another theory as well, The Big Bang.

He is saying that there is no proof either way that "God created everything" or that "For no particular reason, there was nothing, no where, and all of a sudden, everything mysteriously appeared and exploded, thereby creating everything."



On a more personal note, the whole thing of "God" vs "The Big Bang" and "Evolution", for the most part, are about the same. Neither side has "proven" their case ... even though only one side is by their very definition, neeRAB to. Personally, I don't see why they can't both be right and both be wrong.

2008. he wasn't even in office yet, let alone done anything as President. Anything since then that I have or have not supported, since you know, he has been elected? Other than a post that was not about Obama, but about Chicago and how it is doing well - and it is. It still is, with Rahm. Do you live here? No.
 
if you're not going to speak like a sane person, why would I reply? "Black Jesus?" That's just name calling. And yes, the President is religious. Though I'm not sure to what extent anymore. I'm not a ball washer for anyone, including the President. I liked him over McCain in many, many ways. But he's not the best to have ever lived by a long shot.
