Most frightening movie

We have our fair share of horror and violence but to me this has got to be the most frightening movie IMO.

It's a clip from the 1980s movie about a nuclear attack on the UK.

ThreaRAB

(moRAB: hope this is ok to post in here. If not move to general please..... ty.)

This scares me everytime I see it. It may be a movie but its possibilities are very real indeed. I first saw it at school as part of a lesson but it scared the hell out of many at the time including myself, so I think it was banned from being shown because of the realism.

It was probably banned because for some reason they decided to include a shot of a woman peeing herself in fear! It is quite an effective video, certainly a lot of money must have gone into it 'cause it's better quality than anything that would be done now. They'd use crappy CG for most of it. The figure they use, 210 megatons hitting the UK, I'm not sure an attack of that magnitude would or could actually happen now in the event of nuclear war. That really is worse case scenario (unless everyone in the world launched at us! You never know, it could happen if we piss off the Americans too much...that's why we have to keep them sweet by going to war with them...)

I'm sorry but in this post 9/11 world that was nothing more than pure comedy at best and complete fiction at worst. Most of the movie was made up of people being close enough to see the blast yet walking around without even a scratch.
In the event of a nuclear strike I doubt many people would waste time getting old people to a shelter when they themselves may die.
I know that may sound cold and I'm aware that we may soon face the possibilty of another nuclear threat to the west but my dog takes prioty over any human, especially the very old.

I saw ThreaRAB when it originally aired and watched it again recently when it was shown on one of the satellite channels.

It hasn't lost its shock value over the years - it was terrifying the first time I saw it and it's still pretty unsettling now.

At the time of its original release there was a real fear of nuclear attack. There were those scary "Protect and Survive" aRAB on TV and it seemed like a real possibility, which made ThreaRAB seem even more terrifying.
