Most boring film ever?

"Field of Dreams" with Kevin Costner.

Everyone was going on about what a masterpiece it was, and how unmissable and magical it was.
After all the hype I watched it.

It ended, and I thought.."Is that it?"

Not only did I come to the conclusion that it's one of the most boring films ever,..it also ranks with me as one of the worst, and most pointless waste of time films of all time too.

Personally, the most boring film I can recall is Adaptation.

It just did nothing for me at all, although looking at the reviews others have given it I'm in the minority.

"The Blair Witch Project" was another one which was full of hype, promise, and extremely overated.

I was trying to stay awake watching it. I was completely unmoved by this supposedly "most frightening film of all time".

Very boring film.

Kirsten and Kate!
The whole exploration of memory was pretty cool as well... I guess its what your interested in that makes a fim.

I can understand not liking a movie but ... in Mexico is the most boring movie you've ever seen? His god-damn eyes are out!

Seriously, rent some less mainstream films like Gerry to get an idea of what truly boring film-making can be. NOTHING HAPPENS! LITERALLY NOTHING! There are ten minutes of people walking and not saying anything and literally NOTHING HAPPENS! You'll be BEGGING to watch Titanic ... even though Titanic is indeed a festering piece of crap.

At least they were talking -- Gerry is like two pages of dialogue for an entire two hour movie. Plus Dinner w. Andre is just dialogue and that's a great movie.

This made me laugh, as I read the book a little while before the film came out, and felt cheated by the end as absolutely nothing had happened! Was amazed to find that a film had been made of it!
:)

I totally agree that a boring film isn't necessarily the same as a person's worst film ever. I would have to go for Nixon, as it is the only time that I have ever nearly fallen asleep in the cinema; along with the 3 others that were with me!

I am SO glad to see Lord of the Rings mentioned on here - my boyfriend dragged me to see it (the first one) & I fell asleep (that has NEVER happened before - and in the pictures as well, I bet I was dribbling & everything) - but whenever I've said that it was boring to anyone, they're just looked at me like I wasn't normal!

Glad to see I am :D

Tell you another one, that I just bored me rigid - I kept waiting for something to happen but it didn't - but it has much "critical acclaim" - Grosse Point Blank

When I was just on the main forums page I saw the thread title Most Boring Film ever, and thought, yeah, Lord of the RIngs, must post on there! Then when I arrived, your post was the last one. We should start our own club. :)

Lost In Translation. I truly don't understand how it won as many awarRAB as it did. It's one of those films that I sat there thinking "ok, in a minute something will happen...it will". And it never did.

I watched a pretty bad film with Robert Downey Jr in once. The whole film was set in his flat and there were two women, who I believe he was sleeping with or something. I forget, but bottom line is: it was bad.

Crouching tiger hidden dragon...huge hype - huge letdown...the only people who like it are pseudo-intellectuals trying to show how cultured they are...

I've been fortunate in my cinema visits that I rarely see a boring or bad movie,
the only exception I can think of is Adams Family Values which was quite a painfull experience,
I would have walked out if I was on my own.

Girl with a pearl earring wins by a mile the worst film ever IMO
narrowly followed by:-

Adaptation
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (glad I wasn't the only one that hated those two!) the reviews were great
Royal Tenenbaums too
Ghost Ship
Darkness Falls
The Matrix
Secret Window
Welcome To Mooseport
The Actors - possibly the worst acted film in history
Mystic River -absolutely atrocious
Buffalo Soldiers

I feel a nap coming on.........
