Most Bizarre Characters Ever Created

When King released his "unabridged" version of The Stand in 1990, he updated a number of the pop-culture references in the book. In the 1978 version, a character is reading a Howard The Duck comic, and in the 1990 version, it's a TMNT book.

Anyways, Eastman/Laird created the Turtles as a parody of many of the most popular trends in mid-80's comics (ninjas topping the list). It wasn't until the 80's TV series that the concept started getting seriously silly.

Yes, it did. But the original printing cut out parts of the book that King wanted to put in it apparently. I have an unabridged version of the book that was printed in 1991, and on page 918 one of the characters is sitting in a gas station and flipping through comic books on a rack. One of the ones the character grabs is a TMNT comic and he makes some pretty harsh comments about it.

Fuzzy Lumpkins is pretty damn bizarre. Why would you design an otherwise stereotypical hillbilly to be covered in pink fur and have antennas?

Him (Powerpuff Girls): A homosexual version of Satan with feminine characteristics, a high pitched girly voice and a gruff voice when he gets angry? Wow!

Ring-Ring (Pucca): Who came up with the concept of her turning into a chanting siren-esque warrior when she gets ticked off? I will admit though that it's kinda cool.

How about "The Jeep"? What is he, anyways?
