Mosquito allergy

Well came home on Sunday after spending two weeks in New York, travelling about.

I just want to say thank you....for sharing your mosquitoes.

When i was there I got eaten alive, however it must be said that they liked to dine on my arse.

However, that's not were the story ends...came home, the the bites on Thursday night seemed to have disappeared. Woke up Friday to red swollen areas of swelling were the bites had been, not little pretty red spots, im taking areas the size of tennis balls, what's worse they itch like hell and now they seem to be bruising.

Oh lame. We had some monsters around here that tried to go out for buffet one last time before the cold front hit. They'd have taken you out in one bite. :/

Bad enough to see a doctor about?

oh! A tip though, always try to sit near a person with diabetes(they have sweeter blood=attracts all the mosquitos)

Nah, just irritating, however if they get any bigger I may consider going just for something a little stronger than I treating them with.

Havok, the bugs here and in Texas are fucking pipsqueaks. When I saw a mosquito for the first time here, I didn't recognize it.

Seriously, the mosquitos in Californa are several times the size of mosquitos here. I'm used to seeing them about as big as my hand, not smaller than my pinky nail.

Don't visit Alaska then. You need a 12-gauge to protect yourself from those mosquitoes.

Seriously...they're freaking huge. I'm pretty sure they can drill straight through my thumb nail if necessary to get to my blood.

;940608']Put nail polish remover on the bites.

And it seems like they recognize fresh meat, don't they? I was overseas for a year without misquitos and when I came back they tore me up.

I think people just build up a tolerance to the mosquitoes in the place where they live. Even just going to a person's house where I've never been before, I get tore up by mosquitoes, but the ones around my house don't bother me much.

Our mosquitoes down here aren't very big, but they can give you dengue fever, which is fairly unpleasant.

;940627']Perfume and scented soaps are a big thing that the little shits go after. I also smoke outside on the patio, and the little fuckers stay away. Plus, I have a Citronella candle. It's getting to be beatiful weather here, so I'll be outside more often. I love autumn. It's like, perfect weather...

I also have military-grade DEET.

Doesn't Military-grade DEET mess with plastics? Wouldn't want to grab my phone and see the casing melt off a few hours later.

I heard somewhere that eating alot of bananas can attract more mosquitoes, along with dark colors and carbon dioxide from your breath.

Maybe they're just old wives tales though.
