Mormons, if Missouri is the Garden of Eden, why was the true church ejected from it?

Wouldn't God show more favor to the Mormon church than he did to Adam and Eve, and allow them to stay in Eden?

Also, how did humans get to Missouri in the first place if there is an angel with a flaming sword at the gates of eden?
