Morgan Freeman lays it down on the white man...like a boss

Why bother? You spend the first half of the thread posting statistics then turn around and claim statistics don't accurately represent crime.

UCR = arrest statistics.

I would assume for unsolved murders they use unknown when they know it is a murder but have no tangible suspect.

aka find a body, can prove it is murder, etc

it's an outlier in the way the system is run, but if you look up UCR you will find it is indeed arrest statistics

I really should go to bed, but if anyone is interested in the topic further, Cassia Spohn's work is recognized as some of the most thoroughly researched and well-respected findings in the CJ scholarly community:

This is what I went to school for (CJ) and I'm still considering a PhD in the field, or at the very least, working for a sentencing commission/likeminded research group.

See what I replied to threeclaws.

Also, that type of thinking doesn't serve anyone. Saying things like "The ones you see in trouble" is anecdotal and useless.

Look at the raw data. Black people are arrested for major crimes 3x as often as you would expect them to be (arrest rate vs. population proportion).

White people on the whole commit more raw crime than blacks.

Black people outnuraber whites in raw nurabers in prison.

??????????????????

Great book on the subject by one of the leading researchers in the field:

A race has certain physical characteristics that go beyond skin color. African and Indian people can have identical skin color but look very different. A person's race is an easy way to describe their overall appearance.

I'm not going to look past statistics. The only time I see people asking to look past the statistics is when they feel that they are false but don't actually have anything other than rhetoric to fall back on.

UCR = reporting

As you said unknown would apply to verifiable murders that were reported with no known assailant.

So with the data given blacks are reported to have committed more RAW murders than whites.

You said the NIBRS isn't the same as the UCR even though the UCR incorporates NIBRS data which is how they have unknown race data for murders.

I'm pulling up facts to contradict your drivel, I'm sorry that I used google to find FACTUAL counterarguments instead of just making shit up like you.
