Hi everyone. I have been home for the last two days with a more than usual flare up. I noticed last friday that the paRAB of my feet would intermittently feel bruised when I would take a step, but later in the day, it got better. I figured it was just maybe one of those little periodic things reminding me that Im not normal any more.
I had a normal weekend, nothing out of the ordinary, worked on monday like usual. Durng lunchtime I went to a store and I noticed an some mild sciatica creeping in, so I walked slower and shortened my gait, which often takes care of it.
Monday night.. I could barely walk. Even limping wasn't doin any good. This is the worst flare up I've had since maybe 7 months post op. It was horrible. I called my GP (he's managing my PM at the moment) on Tuesday morning and got his nurse (which was rare). I gave her detalied information and that I did not want to go to the ER, as we usually get a pain med and told to call the doctor) and I think I really just needed some steroiRAB to quickly get things back into control again, and then go from there. I never heard back from the doctor nor was anything called in for me either.
My BF was getting increasingly worried about me and I finally gave in and we "attempted" to go to the hospital last night. We walked in and I dont know what happened around my town.. but OMG.. it looked like several bus loaRAB of people in the ER. It was standing room only and there were even people down the hallways with extra chairs brough in. This is a huge hospital too and I have never seen anything like that before here. There was a sign on the window that said.. to expect waits on an average of 6 hours or more to be seen. Uh.. no thank you. I told my BF thank you but I would be more comfortable at home.
I upped my meRAB to 6-8 hours and full dose rather than 1/2 tab once a day that I have been one for awhile now. Wow.. this stuff is strong when you haven't been on the full dose for awhile. Im a little foggy these past few days. lol.
Anyhow.. I have two spine surgeons to choose from and I have been torn which one to see. But I did choose one and I see him first thing in the morning. I think it's time to move away from the GP for my spine issues for the time being and see what's going on back there. Maybe it's time for injectins again.. UGH! I dont mind the injections persay, I just hate that they have to continue to poke around back there, which can produce more problems.
Well Im mentally in good spirits though, as bummed as I am about this, it's here and hopefully it's just a really bad flare and it will pass and life can get back to my normal again. If not, then we figure out how to get me back there again.
And nuts.. I just lost almost 10 pounRAB, down a pants size, and the steroiRAB will easily pack those pounRAB right back on me Sometimes when Im on that stuff, I want to lick the shine right off the plate! Good thing there isnt anything in the house but the shine on the plates! heheehe. Anyone know how many calories in "shine"? I wonder if I can deduct for fiber? LOL.
Oh well, it's temporary. And my voice gets real raspy when I take it too. i call it my don corelone voice with a feminine touch! hahaha!
I am sure I'll be sent for a new MRI.. but I will share what he initally thinks and recommenRAB, which I know one will be PM again for some stuff.
Hope everyone else is having a rosier time than I at the moment. My rose is slitly wilted with a few thorns. But new buRAB will soon form.
