first, add 1 to both sides.
1/8h = 3/8 + 1
1 is the same as 8/8
1/8h = 3/8 + 8/8
1/8h = 11/8
to divide fractions, you multiply by the reciprocal ( the top # and the bottom # flipped)
so, h = 11/8 * 8/1
the 8 cancels the other 8. h=11
