More driving bad luck

Maybe some of you remember the thread in March where I talked about how I stupidly crashed my car into the garage door. I seem to have bad streaks with driving, so here's how it goes.

I got my license about three weeks ago. That very same day, I was driving down the street and some lady pulled out of the plaza next to me and hit the side of my car. So there's a ding in it...and somehow she thinks it's my fault. The insurance companies are at a deadlock I guess. I don't think anything's really going to get done.

The next day I'm driving home, and I get a flat tire. I still don't know how. My sister was in the car with me, and she can attest that I didn't really do anything odd. This puzzled my mom further because the tires had less than 500 miles on them, but I couldn't figure out if I ran over something.

The car was supposed to be inspected that Friday anyway, so we had it towed to the auto body shop. They fixed the tire and forgot about the inspection. Then they had to order some part(some cooling thing or whatever) that wasn't coming in, but they got it in. However, the check engine light still beeps, which means they obviously didn't do a good enough job fixing the car.

Then this weekend, my mom gets the car insurance bill and they added me to her policy without telling her, and insured both of us to drive both cars, and for some ridiculous reason, the bill came to $1600 for just one month.

Damn.

lol. Sorry to hear about it. Try gettin 3 flat tires in a 2 week period and never running over anything at all. That was my luck about 2 months ago

That's just all bad

Nails love new tires! check the inside side wall!

Idiot lights!

When I started driving many many moons ago I paid 2k a year for liability on a car that was 20 years old through AAA!

Taht's the price you pay for inexpierience my friend! You are a HIGH risk wether you like it or not!

I remember I ran over a gutter in the street and got a flat tire. And like you all, nothing appeared to be there. To this day I don't know what I hit.

I'm not sure what the worst i did ever was... my accident list includes(all in the same car, 1996 dodge neon 4 door)...

Sided a utility van in a parkinglot.. slow moving accident, bent my bumper, crushed my headlight..

Rear ended a 4x4 in traffic, with slushy conditions(damn breaks werent antilock)

sided a green mustang as i was comming out of a parking lot exit.. a truck was blocking my view of the second lane and was waving me out.. my bad for trusting someone...fucker...

I also got one ticket for doing 70 in a 55. Now on the other hand my wife has been in 12 or more accidents, one involving a police car, has been pulled over at least 20 times for misc reasons, mostly swerving in the lane, and has gotten 2 tickets for reckless driving and 4 parking fines.

she drives a bit better now...

Well on my first car i went through 16 new tires a year. I had soft compound tires so they LOVED nails. One time i got a hanger stuck in the tire and it was in the tire and hanging a foot out from the side. It was funny. Some times new tires are defective, member firestone? And as for the check engine light, if the computer is not getting enough power, or overheating, or whatever if will put out false dianostic codes.

Didnt get into an accident.. but i did get a fucking $140 speeding ticket.. god damn.. can police give people a break? it was friggin 1:00AM and im trying to get home.. I was driving my drunk sibling home from a party..and I thought that would be responsible enough to not let her drive impaired. But no, the stupid officer gave me a $140 ticket.. for going 52 in a 40.. gimme a break..

Sorry to burst your bubble dude, but Autobody shops don't deal with the mechanics of a car, just the way it looks ;) You're going to have to take it to a Mechanic to get that light fixed :P

I think this is one of those "depends on the cop" kinda things. I talked my way out of a $750 ticket for driving my truck through a parking lot. I was going 10 mph. The cop said "you cant tear ass through shit like that" i said "I'm not from here and where im from we dont have that dumb ass law." I got a $75 ticket for driving recklessly :confuse: I wonder sometimes about that "serve and protect" thing some times.

A kid I know got caught going 90 in a 35(said something about trying not to get killed by a couple other cars) and his ticket was $525 and he got his license suspended for a month.

Not too long after getting it back, he got another one for going 25 over somewhere.
