Pham might have been stealing donations, and as i said I wasn't close to pham, but i do trust the other staffers and I know they have nothing to do with the stealing as they had no access to the paypal account.


what i'm saying is that ptp is one of the best movie trackers out there, and if you don't want to keep your account there, it's your loss. I can quote a fair number of people that haven't gotten access to ptp for various reasons and all of them say that they really miss ptp because they could get any film they wanted from there.
 
ok, maybe I'm wrong...I'm not hung up about it though...I do know there was a major drama between now-CN staff and revolt (I'm being very vague here as I believe parties involved and related parties don't want the exact details just openly gossed about, and, well, they're all my friends and I value their company/acquaintance), I know that there were threats and hate created, and that some reviews (and probably invites) were removed by a certain tracker...perhaps some people claim this and some people claim that...perhaps again this is all down to interpretation...perhaps for the definitive answer one would have to ask sys or savvy whether that drama contributed at all to the closing down of the reviews/invites section.

Not sure what your point is with that statement or how it relates to what I'm saying...or the points I'm making...which are pretty simple...apart from stating certain sparse facts (or trying to I guess :P). I don't actually care about any of this...I'm actually laughing at the drama...commenting on drama from a distance can be humorous sometimes, and even the parties involved laugh about it in later times (well, not always, hey :rolleyes:)...or, just no longer care/feel hot about it...

Also, while I'm 100% never going to donate to PtP in the future (would never have either way), I don't see why I should want to walk away from my account. It's close to being disabled anyways cause I only snatch rarer stuff that isn't on goem and I don't really seed either. They are trying to distance themselves from this pham character, so I think they've still got a strike or two left with the general pop of the site.

Name off the sites that have that rule. I could probably get a quote from their staff saying that this rule doesn't apply if you're calling out a site for its staff fucking over it's userbase.

One thing I know is you can't tar the whole staff with the same dirty brush for the actions of one or two members of staff.

I'm glad the people who have taken the reigns on this site have not started any smear campaign against the previous owner and seem to be handling it very maturely. If they are letting people make their own minds up then they must have good facts to support their case and not feel the need for "he said, she said" playground tactics.

Anyway, my opinion on this for what it's worth is that the most honest thing people can do is not believe either side, be a skeptic and assume both sides are exaggerating their points, I mean this happens in real life fighting so it's safe to assume it's true on the web.

Make your own minds up people based on facts or your own personal experience.

I'm a lowely member of PTP and as far as I can see they have got rid of some bad apples and seem to be happy they can now lower the amount they will be asking for regarding donations, be more transparent in explaining the cost and listen to what members want to see change.

I think the drama is over and the future is bright for this site after being under a cloud for a long, long time.

Feel free to flame me, I don't expect anytihng less form some for having an honest opinion.

You make some good points but I just wanted to be an ass and say that it's lowly( unless of course your first name happens to be either Nick or Rob).
Just feel it's necessary to point that out since opinion being at least to some small extent based on the trivial , one such glaring mistake ( think MLK instead of eloquence guffawing "I had me a dream " )will almost certainly negate something that might otherwise be brilliant.

Interesting. I was a member since scenemovies, and the early days of PTP. Not once did I think about commenting on this entire ordeal, and I have no idea as to why I haven't.

Maybe I don't give a rat's ass anymore. I'm sure a lot of the non-"lowley" members of PTP share the same opinion right now, unless they're being fed bucket-loads of "we still care about you," by the staff.

As for not posting about drama, the only posts I've seen not about drama are "Post your own blog articles", "Safe hosting", and "I know nothing about encoding but thought I'd make a post about it".

720 scan lines take into account the black bars cropped out during encoding to save space. If you take a source (often 1080i, or 1920x1080 before cropping), crop out the black bars, and then resize it to 1280x720, you've messed up the aspect ratio of the picture. I'd know, I just did this by accident on an encode the other day. 720p videos are resized for the 1280 width, and then the black bars removed by cropping are simply added by your media player of choice if you fullscreen the video.

Once again, stop being an idiot and do some research before making a blog post ;)
 
ptp has been pretty awesome... it was the first movie tracker on gazelle, and that alone just kicked ass like you wouldn't believe. Sorting/searching by ratings, actors, directors, etc.

are there are any other good movie sites on gazelle now? I wouldn't know because I've been pretty content with ptp since they opened...
