MoonScoop sues American Greetings over Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake

What did AG ever do to them? Care Bears and SSC are AG properties. They were created way before Moonscoop (the result of a merger between France Animation [Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea] and Antefilms [Funky Cops, Code Lyoko]) ever existed. SSC officially debuted in 1980 followed by Care Bears two years later.

Or is it some other issue? Is Moonscoop claiming that AG made a deal with them, or something?

If you actually read the article, it says that Moonscoop is claiming AG has not fulfilled a promise to sell the properties outright once it got the rights back from Cookie Jar. Moonscoop was going to be the buyer.

No. We had enough of the Bionicle films and we really don't need any more films based off little kids' toys. I'm fine with what we have.

I have no idea what's going on. I read the link, I also read two articles on Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake. Why does MoonScoop believe that they have anything to do with these franchises?

Like I said, Moonscoop was going to buy the two properties outright for $95,000,000. They're saying AG is attempting to back out of the sale. That's what they're suing over.
