It looks likely that Pixar's 2013 release will be MI2 and it will be helmed by Pete Docter.

Well just like Cars there's plenty of scope, they've created a big universe. But I know what you're saying, it'd be odd if they didn't include Boo.

I'd prefer neither really. Didn't enjoy The Incredibles and Monsters Inc. should really be standalone shouldn't it?

Toy Story, Cars and possibly Ratatouille are the only ones that, in my opinion, have scope for sequels. Perhaps A Bug's Life, but that's so far in the past I don't think the audience would connect (plus, for totally unknown reasons to me, people didn't like it as much(!))

I will await it with as much excitement as every Pixar film (the best film production company in history, imho) but I'll remain my judgement as to how good it is until I've seen it.

Monsters Inc. is my favourite Pixar film.

I loved Monsters Inc. I was quite surprised they didn't make a sequel earlier.

I think all the Pixar films could do at least 1 good sequel, but any more (with the exception of Toy Story 3) I think would be pushing it.

The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc all deserve sequels. At least one of them is hopefully getting one for now.

Paddy :D

The Incredibles has lots of possibilities for a sequel, they even ended the film perfectly setting up one. I agree with you about Monsters Inc as that came to a conclusion and I'm not sure how they could do a sequel to it.

Strange that for a company that only does 1 release a year, that 3 of their next 5 films are sequels.

2009 - Up
2010 - Toy Story 3
2011 - Cars 2
2012 -
2013 - Monsters Inc. 2

Still Monsters Inc. deserves a sequel much more than Cars!

lol each to their own, I think Cars deserves one just as much as MI. ;)

Anyway, you've got a point, the first part of the next decade will be half full of sequels from the Lamp. Apart from Bear and the Bow 2011 and Newt 2012.

(Side note, its been reported that Brad Bird does have "an idea or two" about a Incredibles sequel)

I have faith that this is not a "blip" in the proceedings and all 3 films will be just as good as the originals.

But if they're not, then the release slate from WDAS will certainly give them a run for their money.
