has anyone seen this film with charlize theron and christina ricci?I watched it last night it was excellent.

yes its great! if you watch it on DVD the documentaries that accompany it as an extra with Nick Broomfield are even better. You actually (well I do anyway!) start to feel a bit of sympathy for Aileen Wuornos.

I watched this last night on channel 4 and it was excellent.

My husband couldnt believe it was Charlize Theron as she looked soooo different.

I really enjoyed it - and i have always felt sympathy with the main character. I watched a documentary on this story some time ago, and i felt for her.

The film was more sympathetic than the documentary, but then I guess you would expect it to be.
I thought Aileen Wuornos was a monster.

I agree slightly, in that the U.S. make no allowances for mad people and treat them exactly the same as normal people.

Yeah thats kinda what i meant, in that she did commit some heinous unforgiveable crimes but she imo was also clearly a bit mad (you will see what i mean if you watch the documentary done by nick broomfield starring the real Aileen Wuornos) but the US dont make allowances for things like that which is a bit unfair

Very good film. Charlize Theron's acting was absoltuely superb. I didn't really rate her as an actress until I saw Monster (I think I saw it on Film 4 a year or so ago.)

It's not often that female actors have the guts to pile on the pounRAB and look grotty. Theron was barely recognisable in the film.

I think you'll find that it's the fact that she was a complete and utter 'nutter' which is the very reason why some people would feel some sympathy for her.
