Monitor is ON but screen stays black after the "Gateway" logo flashes?

My Friend has a PC & Gateway HDMi monitor... I was at her house last night... everything was working fine... This morning her screen stays black after a re-boot and check of all connections... The gateway logo shows upon boot-up & then the screen goes to black. Any hot key or action to rectify this?
