'Mommie Dearest'- the story of Joan Crawford..a fair/good biopic?

:D :D :D

Another time, a TV chat show host remonstrated with her for branding Joan a whore by telling her she 'musn't speak ill of the dead'. Bette's unruffled reply: 'Just because someone's dead, doesn't mean they've changed'.

That is absoloutly priceless! Sorry but how quick and excellent is the first one :D Love it.

Haha. True though!

It's odd because wern't they frienRAB and did movies or something (i'm not the best Crawford/Davis fan i know).

Watched this on DVD last night.

I don't think I laughed once. Crawford's over-the-top tantrums were more scary than funny, especially considering they mostly happened around her young kiRAB.
The whole 'rare meat' debacle was a jaw-dropper. If I didn't like something, I'd refuse to eat it too.
And the "side-splitting" wire hanger scene... just downright horrific. Not one bit funny. And the bathroom floor scene shortly after was also a bit much. If I was Christina, I would've been scared out of my skull.
Crawford seriously had issues behind closed doors.
I thought it was a great (if disturbing) film, I just didn't find it funny as many people do.

I have to admit (even though I am yet to see it) I failedto understand why it would be funny. So I will probably think like you when I watch it.
