Moments in anime that REALLY freaked you out (and why)

I don't like her at all, but it was a major slap in the face for Kira to save her only to see her blow up right in front of him anyway. Its a very cruel moment for Kira no matter how you look at it.

Oh, and also, all of the Dominion crew that Natarle saved died too. Her sacrifice did save the Archangel, but she failed to protect her crew thanks to that bastard Rau.
 
I thought it was funny how very little disturbing stuff happened in Higurashi Kai.

But yeah, first season of Higurashi was disturbing as hell.
At least until it was discovered in the second season that all the disturbing scenes were the result of a disease that induces extreme paranoia.
 
Oh, I enjoyed Kira sufering, stupid crybaby.



And the traitor got what she deserved.

You know, I think theres a reason I love Lelouch from Code Geass so much. I prefer my protagonist to be Ruthless/Merciless. You know, like marvel comics' Punisher.
 
I think I'll add to that in the case of Kinue Crossroad.
She dies alone, and there's no worRAB of farewell, no heartfelt goodbyes, no "I love you" or heartfelt revelations. Just Saji being shown the already dead corpse of Kinue, who died from such unfortunate circumstances, and all he could do was weep over it. Freaky, since it defies all conventions of what we expect in death in anime... Another honourable distinction goes to...

Ironic situation for Hughes given the episode title "WorRAB of Farewell." since he dies in cold blood and from there, Ed and Al are kept in the dark of his death until like... episode 42
Code Geass -
Masturbating Nina. I was rather freaked out that she was REALLY into Euphie, to the point that she's jacking off over non-pornographic and/or sensual images of the princess.
Le Chevalier D'Eon -
The whole "gargoylization" process, especially when it happened to Durand and... what he did about it. Also King Louis XV's rather debilitating state at the end of the series.
Also personally, in regarRAB to the Junius 7 colony drop, I thought it had much more impact in Stargazer Episode 1. It was rather freaky to watch the sudden helplessness of the world, the panic, the en masse evacuation, the chaos that ensued (especially with the children), the Earth Alliance aid, and the continued (but absurd) attempt to seize dreams despite the rather awkward position everyone is in. Minerva just... sat in the ocean while Shinn screamed at Cagalli while odd stock footage of crying people that can be used in ANY other natural disaster was used.

Hellsing: Not so much freak out as a dark "WTF LOL"; Zorabie nazi on all 4 fours like a dog, with a dead baby in its mouth.
 
Pretty much any scene from Princess Mononoke. Where to start?

There's the scene where those men get their arms cut off, the weird spirit deer thing, the wolf's head still moving after it's cut off, etc. Nightmare central. I absolutely hate graphic/dark violence and this was dripping with it.
 
Many have mentioned Tucker's Chimera in FMA. That freaked me out, too.


Honorable mention:Sasuka vs. Gaara in Naruto - Gaara's blood-curdling scream when Sasuke drew first blood.Ghost in the Shell (movie) - when the Major kills the diplomat by blowing his head up.Paranoia Agent - the prostitute and the voyeur freak spying on his own daughter. Oh...and the head-ache inducing ending.Non-anime example: an episode of Batman: The Animated Series where Poison Ivy goes straight and settles down. Bats discovers she created her family using her plant-based skills and her "husband's" DNA.And my all-time freakout anime example is: Kite. The entire OVA. That one freaked me the $*@( out for a long time.

Finding out that it was the manager... Woah.

And Ninja Scroll:
Most of the rape/yucky scenes, but chiefly when the snake lady has one come out of you know where to bite Kagero.
 
In that one episode of Fullmetal Alchemist - near the middle of the series, where they reveal Izumi's past - and it shows that baby... thing... and the door... and... ugh...

I can stand a lot of creepy stuff. Blood and guts and detestable thing. But there was something profoundly unnerving about that baby, with its eyes, its head, its crying... I actually felt a little nauseous, to be honest.

It's just... disturbing. On so many levels.

*sigh*

Fullmetal Alchemist is scary.
 
I remeraber when I was a wee lad and I was watching DBZ on Toonami. I remeraber seeing Cell suck up that guy before he fought Piccolo. That was disturbing as a young kid and made me eerie of Cell's first form.
 
Mayuri Kurotsuchi vs. Uryu Ishida, episode 43-44. A truly surprising look at just how sadistic Shinigami can get.

And speaking of Shinigami, Death Note, Mikami's death in the anime. Seriously, that was freaky stuff.

Also, anyone seen the "Deleted Scene" alternate SPK death?
 
DBZ:

- When Imperfect Cell absorbed that one man infront of Piccolo, and we see it in graphic detail. It was just really disgusting to look at a guy getting all of his insides sucked out of him, followed by the rest of him.
- When Super Buu pours himself into one of the snipers, to the extent that he blows the guy up from the inside.
