Mold Exposure

I was just curious what other people thought about the topic of mold exposure. I work in the foreclosure business and there are often times when we are forced to go into dark, wet, basements with tons of mold particles in the air, and I don't always wear masks. Well recently I've been having problem with my contacts, I have very very super dry eyes and they're red all the time even with this $10.00 bottle of Refresh Dry Eye Therapy solution that I bought at the store. Also I itch all over my body constantly, and I feel like my brain is always foggy, with inability to make decisions and react quickly. Sometimes I'll just space out without anything on my mind. Lastly, I'm not sure if it's a symptom or still continuing to happen, but my girlfriend told me that I was twitching in my sleep one night.

I'm quite the hypochondriac when it comes to diagnosing myself so I hope you guys can help convince me that it's nothing to be worried about.

NEVER go into that kind of a mold situation without a mask!!!!! I, too, have had your type of exposure and your symptoms. The good news is that if you stay away from mold, you can get better but it takes a while (over a year for me) and you have to be serious about avoiding it. The bad news is that doctors know nothing about mold but claim they do (and they'll insist it's no big deal) so you will get very little support there. There are some really knowledgeable people on the boards here who can provide some better help than I can. Hopefully they will chime in as well. Hang in there!

I want to know more about this. I was in a moldy office building for 7 years. I felt nothing til 5+ years. Scary unpredictable rashes, sudden bloating of the face, eventually the eye condition which has been with me for two years now. I got away permanently from the office in September, after a 4-month hyatus which helped alot but the eye condition seems to be permanent

You are right what you said about doctors! But boy can they ever take your money without batting an eyelash and act like the experts when they clearly never even have studied the issue.

I am depressed because I now have the eyes of a mole, once in awhile they look almost normal for an hour or three but most of the time my skin around my eyes is shriveled up like a mummy.

I want to get well and don't want to continue to fear that I will get worse.
