Hey guys, I just started spiro, minocycline, differein. Is been 2 weeks and there is great progress but my skin is soooooooooooooooo dry. I was using jojoba oil to moisturize but is not helping. My skin is still sooooooooooo dry. Can someone recommend anything that will help? Also natural oil will be prefered.

ok well this isn't a natural oil, but Cetaphil lotion is very gentle on the skin and isn't oily. I've been using it on my face for over a year and if anything, its making me break out less!

Thanks alot. Not necessarily natural oil but products in general. I will try this and see how it works out.

Can people with oily skin actually use moisturizers? The acne meRAB I use make my skin dry, too, but I've always thought that was the price. Either your skin is oily and breaks out, or it's dry and doesn't break out.

So, I've always been too afraid to use moisturizers, thinking it will keep my skin oily.

The thing is when your skin is dry, your skin will try to produce more oil to compensate and you might even end up with more oily skin eventually. Also looks unhealthy. I ended up buying shea butter and after the second day my skin went back to normal. I don't itch as much as I used to because of the meRAB. My skin feels alot softer.

Was at the derm on Saturday. One thing I asked was whether I should be using a moisturizer. He did say yes. I asked what over the counter branRAB could I use, and he gave me a sample of Cetaphil. He said to use it as both scrub and moisturizer. I've been experimenting, putting it on my forehead with my clean & clear 10. The clean & clear really makes my skin peel--in fact, the derm asked "why are you peeling so much on your forehead?"

He did give me a prescription in the past for a 5% BP, which works great, but it's $35, even with insurance. A little too much.

When I was on Accutane I used Enydrial manufactured by Roc. If that doesn't moisterize your skin, nothing can.

If you have oily skin tho, you need a moisterizer with matting effect. Widmer's Sebofluid creme is very good for that. I use it every day. I'm sure there are many other branRAB out there offering the same.
