Alright, I've read a bit about how the Rangers will accompany the Special Forces and Delta sometimes, mostly as a security asset. However I'm not sure how true this is. What kinds of missions/operations do Rangers go on and conduct in today's world? I know many of their missions and objectives are classified, but all I'm asking for is a general view. Although they are airborne qualified, do they ever do parachute insertions in today's world? It doesn't seem like it would be necessary in the current conflicts the US is in right now. Do they actually go on classified missions and accompany other SOCOM forces today, or are they just doing regular grunt work in Afghanistan (I've heard that as well, so I'm confused).
