Models and Singers in the movies!

In the past some of the best and most famous actors/actresses of all time, never had any theatre training but actually became famous after someone seen them displayed in a magazine as a model or because they had a good voice and was luckily enough to be cast in musical before ending up as a talented actor.

Surprisingly I think there is more snobbery in this country and in many of the medias today both here and the States should an actor come from one above mediums yet in the 40's and 50's that is how many started out and became great.

I think personally there is probably lots of people out there, especially as many of the video
 
I saw Jon Bon Jovi in a Vampire film ,Vampires: Los Muertos, the other night on Sky movies ,it was Rubbish ....an his acting skills are even more wooden than Jamie Theakston
 
David Bowie in The Hunger and Merry Christmas Lawrence, did a good job in both, particularly in the latter.

The bit parts by Sting in "Dune" wasn't bad.

I always thought that Michael Stipe of REM should be a good potential candidate
