It's a cinch to install. You just remove your seat, remove the two screws that fasten the console to the fuel tank, unclip and remove the old speedo, then clip in the new one and fasten the console back on. A 10 minute job at most.
How do you transfer the bike's odometer reading to the new speedo/tach?? In other words, if I have 2,543 miles on my bike, how do I get that 2,543 on the new odometer??
With the older speedo/tach you would state your existing mileage when you order the speedo/tach. MOCO would then program that stated mileage into your new speedo/tach and ship it to your ordering dealer. So when you install it you're set to go. That's what I had to do when I bought mine. I would assume it's the same procedure with the digital version as well.
That's correct. When you order the new speedometer you report your mileage and the new speedo is set to that figure. Not knowing how long it would take to get mine I had the new one set a bit higher than my actual mileage and waited till I racked up those miles to install it.
