Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

TTIAO used to be very funny, I didnt like it as much when Lee Mack did it rather than Nick Hancock.
When he was on HIGNFY too, all he did was make sexist unfunny jibes "She's a woman" at the director of Liberty, Shami Chakrabati (sp?)
Because of Frankie's comments, I once looked at myself on the back of a spoon
:p

It always surprises me how many people complain about Frankie Boyle doing something that by the way is edgy because not many comedians actually do it. Edgy doesn't mean 'insightful' just because Carlin was a genius and wasn't politically correct.

I got off point there, it surprises me how many people complain about F.B. yet he sells out gig after gig and gets hugely positive receptions on every panel show he's on, along with laughs at every 'tasteless' joke he makes.

I don't get people's problems with edgy jokes. Boyle and Carlin (RIP) are perfect for people who get tired of the same old lame storytelling jokes or god forbid anything to do with Dane Cook.

Part of the reason I ended up watching UK comedies is because American panel comedies don't exist and the FCC is so touchy you can't even say "shit" regardless of time on network television.

People are way too politically correct and scared to push the envelope.

I do have interest in writing comedy sketches so perhaps I can ignite some hope? :D

Dara said at his gig tonight that the guidelines are going to make life interesting for MTW. They don't apply to historical or fictional people he said, so the first line next series is likely to be: 'Sherlock Holmes, what a ****!"

Russell Howard's Good News starts up again this week. Strange that he has to take time off from MtW to record this "topical" show that deals with each weeks news. So surely it should be recording at the moment when MtW has finished recording ;)

I just got back from seeing Stewart Francis on tour, in my local venue and he was hilarious :D
I recognised some stuff from MTW/Apollo but not all, and he was very funny :D
