Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

I agree with all of the above. I quite like Russell Howard. He's a funny fella. But I'm getting a little bored of "how brilliant would it be if" and I'm starting to think he's a little teenage compared to all the others. Which is fine! Nothing wrong with being teenage. Hell, I'm 20, I'd be a complete moron if I thought I'd grown up even a snifter since I was nineteen; lovely to be silly and there's no point living if you're going to be sardonic all the time, so it's not a slight against him. But the tone seems a bit mismatched, is all. In a vacuum, Russ is fantastic. With Frankie, who was often equally bizarre (yet equally fairly edgy and topical), he felt like he slipped right in. ("ICE FISHING!") But without Frankie as a middle man he seems a bit out of place.

That said, last thing they want to do now is start lopping more regulars off.

Russell Howard's gone downhill since Frankie left IMO.

He's trying to be more riskey, shocking etc. The only funny thing he's said this series was about Adebayor which wasn't "shocking" at all!

The guests have usually been dreadful but with one less full time panelist it's really being exposed. I like Stewart Francis and David Mitchell but most of the rest are poo.

Jarred Christmas can be funny. I've seen him a couple of times on tv doing standup. He likes to have an ott rant.

It all depenRAB if he can convert that to a panel show.

I'm open to suggestions if you can recommend anything instead of denigrating and belittling what little there is left on the box in the way of comedy at the moment. Up for it?

After all this is the TV section and not the radio one:p

I thought he and the New Zealander were just following Frankie Boyle's,trash where you're from formula.I can't think of any topical white South Africans to mock.
