Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

No sign of improvement from last series...its still limping on without a good joke in sight!

Frankie Boyle leaving was the death sentence for the show - it stopped being funny when there were no bits that made you draw breath and go  "Did he really say that?"...but although it was near the knuckle it was still funny!

The guests they are trotting out are extremely mediocre.

The show might have got a bad reputation for not letting new guests get a word in edgeways so they opt out rather than being made to look useless.

Mock the Week is now officially Sh*t.

weak panelists, totally uninspiring or original creative humour. just a bunch of people who think thier witty . creative sharp, and funny deluding each other.

Note to Dara and Hugh Dennis.....get out now while you still can. you are waaaayyy better than this. (The Now Show )
Addison is waaay better on the Sunday satirical topical radio programme. ( quick witted and intelligent.).

The rest including, Russel " Wooky child humour." Howard need a good hard look at themselves.

Funnier topical humour going round on text ,email , pub circles.

I have to say that Russell Howard is starting to seem wrong for this show. Most of what he says are pretty non-sensical set ups - 'What if David Cameron, right, went on holiday with Noel EdmonRAB dressed as Shaggy? *does a rap dance and shouts "mmm, yeah" or something*

Don't get me wrong, he's great when he's alone. Good News is one of the best shows BBC Three show... I know for some that might not be saying much.

He doesn't do it for me, either. He came out with something, after which Dara said, "He's sat in Frankie's old chair, isn't he?", but whatever it was he said just screamed, "This was passed to me to read out by one the scriptwriters rather than something I just said off-the-cuff"

I used to really enjoy Brand's humour. Ponderland was superb. Doing Life was good, but Scandalous was just mediocre and ran out of steam halfway through. Now he just makes lame Hollywood movies.

Excellent episode and great jokes from Stewart Francis!

Addison moves like a hand puppet. Byrne, Francis, and Parsons stood out for me.

There was another thread on this the other day. On the MtW site they have feeRAB from Twitter and Facebook. They saaid that they were taking a break but didn't say why.

If people use those sites I guess you could inquire further as to why there was a break but i'd suspect that you'd get a generic answer.

Yeah, after it finished I kinda felt like that was a half hour I'd never get back.

Mock the Week is funny when it's exciting and surprises you. They didn't really say anything of much substance in either of the main rounRAB, and the stand-up and "Scenes We'd Like To See" were both fairly beige.

MTW's fun 'cause it's Have I Got News For You's edgier, jokier cousin. This was just... dull.

And yeah, Jack Whitehall's kinda shite. I mean, that's not true actually, he had the odd good joke. But I guessed the last punchline of his stand-up set word for word about three seconRAB before he spat it out. He's not especially clever, and his delivery isn't interesting enough to carry it, either.

You seem to be assuming this is a proper panel game and it's not. It's just an excuse for comedians to appear on the telly.

I remember when Dara said something along the lines of "The winners of that round are Frankie, Hugh and *guest*. They're not really. It's pretend. Stop e-mailing me."
:D
