Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

If you miss Frankie Boyle just buy The Sun on a Friday, his column is in there and there are tons of topical jokes every week, it proves that Mock the week should have given him more airtime not less, he's unbelievably prolific.

Did anyone else notice russell howard telling the same joke he told in an earlier series about osoma bin laden getting air miles for 9/11

Cant stand russell howard

Highlights tonight were Hugh's voice-over (as always) and seeing a little more of Miles Jupp. I'm still making up my mind about him but I liked him (on seeing him for the first time) on MM's Comedy Road Show.

I looked MJ up and see he was in the latest THE THICK OF IT which I loved and have on DVD. I shall have watch it again to catch his performance.

Tonight on MTW.... Jack Whitehall & Chris Addison. two of the most painfully unfunny, yet incredibly smug comedians on TV.

Can't find out who the other two guests are, but they're going to have to be spectacular to save tonights episode from disaster!

I'm so sad. I used to absolutely adore this programme, would never dream of missing it but now I can barely raise a smile when it's on.

Not sure what's happened, but it just feels like it's missing something :(

I've seen his DVD. No real difference than other one liners such as Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle or Tim Vine.
He doesn't do audience interaction but did have a sub plot about going around the world.

Still, there wasn't much of a theme to the gig. Just segments of one-liners. He's used most on MtW.

I understand that people don't like Russell Howard (think I'm in the small section that does), but to replace him with that twonk Micky Flanaghan is beyond me. The man is not funny and thinks comedy is making a crappy impression of his wife.

I think it's upto the producers and/or editors to sort it out. There is prenty of comedy talent and political satire out there.

The newer guests seem to have problems getting into the show. Well the makers should either shoot more or tell them to be involved more in the show and keep filming until they get decent material.

They do need to freshen it up. Parson's is the only one who seems to do satire now. They need a stronger captain such as Mitchell who's funny but will have a good rant.

Well, you say that, but it sounded like he was speaking their language pretty well for someone who's supposedly demeaning their culture. Don't think the (f'ing baffling!) impression of Desmond Tutu was any more demeaning to black people than an impression of John Lennon would be to Liverpudlians, either.

I know there is a bit more racial tension in South Africa than round here, though. So I'll say that you might be right and leave it at that.

I liked the "Unlikely Lines in the Bible" part

"I've got some bad news for Dave the Ox Lover" :D
Andy Parsons is growing on me and has improved over the years.
The splendidly named Jarred Christmas looked like one of the DJs in the movie The Boat That Rocked :D :o

Many of them do that. It's probably one of the problems with being a regular and having so much screen time.
Boyle and Dennis have both repeated jokes in the past.

One from Boyle is about having a gay dad.
One from Dennis is about turning your back on the Queen.
