Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

I guess its not much different from say, Rory Bremner doing a Mandella impression or something, I just didnt find him funny. Then again I dont know much (anything) about Xhosa (sp?) but he seemed to speak it pretty well if he was mocking it.
 
And very funny it was too, mainly because that exact situation happened to me! No bread in Subway!

As soon as the topic was announced as 'identity' and Andi 'I'm Nigerian you know' Osho came up i thought 'here we go...'.
 
The one missing in the middle was (according to Chris Addison on Twitter) because they didn't know whether England would still be in the world cup at that point, so didn't want to record a new one for that week just in case. Not sure why they just repeated the one from the week though.

Not overly impressed with this series, like another poster said it's like the BBC are ruining on purpose.
 
I read this thread before watching the episode... and whilst it wasn't the best episode ever it was certainly nowhere near as bad as everyone has made it out to be. I must be alone in thinking that Jack Whitehall is getting funnier now that he seems to be getting used to proper TV exposure, and the SA guy was also fairly funny. The NZ guy was a very average though.
 
You may as well just get his DVD then. Most of the jokes in it he has reused in MTW.
I know the same goes for most. Francis is the same as he is a one-liner.

Boyle has suffered from it and to a lesser extend so has Byrne.
I guess it depenRAB on who's DVRAB you have seen.
 
I can't say the show is worse without Frankie Boyle, he became a one trick pony in the end and his "shock" value want there any more.

I have always felt Russell Howard was the child of the show, he seems pretty purile to me most of the time and butts in alot.

Andy, Dara and Hugh are the real stars of the show. Hugh can be very, very funny and quite cutting at times and I like his dry sense of humour. Dara neeRAB a bit more air time and I think Andy neeRAB to find a way to get a word in edge ways too.

This weeks show was rubbish but like all these shows they do depend on the quality of the guest.

I agree at its best it can be very funny but last night there was nobody with the wit to get it going. Like some of the other posters I can remember Patrick Kielty's other efforts on the programme so I too was surprised to see him booked again.
