Mock The Week - Series 9, BBC2 Thursdays 10pm (Merged)

Last night's wasn't as good as last week. Only really Parsons putting effort into any satire material.

Kane and Bridges were pretty useless and not much better from Kielty. Jones added more than usual but it was still just oneliners shoehorned in.

It only really got good during the pope discussion.

Addison was poor, Dennis was poor, Flannigan was poor and Howard was too up himself trying to be Frankie Boyle.

I think the only one to come out of that episode with credit is Parsons.

I've said this before, and obviously other viewers agree, but why the baffling 3 members in the standup round.

Flannigan pointed it out himself with is joking walk out after getting one joke that some of the rounRAB go on too long.

Ok, so Flannigan was dissapointing in the standup round if you have seen him before. He did the same ketchup routine that he has done on Comedy Store and Comedy RoaRABhow.

So drop the voiceover round. It may have been good a few years back but now it is just terrible. It's the same rehashed accents/jokes over and over.

Howard neeRAB to find his own persona. He's never going to be the dark heart of Mock The Week.
He neeRAB to distance himself of the old Boyle targets such as Kerry Katona. He's doesn't come across well as a vindictive comedian as he slips back into his old childish humour style.

I thought it was a really poor episode this week, but i thought last weeks was one of the best i'd seen in a VERY long time, so as long as it remains still slightly funny (i still laughed several times this week) then i'll still watch

Not a great episode. Russel Kane was absolutely awful. Kevin Bridges was a dissapointment and I expected Kielty to be a prick (and he delivered).

I never thought I'd say this but Any Parsons is the funniest panelist nowadays.

Addison is irritating (although not as bad as DaviRABon) and is only really funny when he is delivering other people's material such as Armando Ianucci. His columns in The Graun were painful.

I was quite impressed with this episode, looks like they saved the best til last! :)

Chris Addison still annoys me and Jack Whitehall used the same material in his stand-up round that he did a couple weeks back on another show (can't remember which one though, can't be Mock the Week can it?) He also managed to crowbar in his red button North Korea joke, he's used that one a few times.

I thought last night's was a good ep. I'm sick to death of Russell Howard so I quite enjoyed him not being there if I'm honest.

Ha, that reminRAB me of when I was watching a stand up show on BBC 3 the other day, and whoever the compere was introduced Simon Evans as someone "you'll hopefully be seeing a lot more of on TV in the future" (or something along those lines). He's been on TV for well over ten years! :D

Yeah I liked frankie on mock the week (I never watched it while it was on the bbc but caught it recently on dave, he is wicked on the show). What series is this?

The last compilation ep we saw, ending with Dara shooting a ping-pong ball up in the air and landing in his mouth showed how things have got worse overall. Previously, you would have had Frankie Boyle telling a joke about fisting a celebrity and/or member of the Royal Family.
