I noticed this morning that mobile video was active and live. I guess the wap downtime yesterday was to prep for the launch. I am using a lg dare and i am getting device not supported errors. I wonder if i change the device id of the phone in the wap settings to another phone. Hm. Anyway post your findings and if you get it to work on a non cricket phone let us all know what the solution was.

GRRR does not support 6275i.
rokr on dealer plan says: "Your monthly plan is not eligible for Cricket Video Service"
but it does allow me to continue and i can look at the free preview but i don't have any space on the phone to download it. apparently it is not a streaming service.

i figured it wouldn't be streaming but it would have been nice to have more ports open. When i get home i am going to take a stab at it. I do know the video service is a partnership with quickplay.ca i know we can get this working!

so i'm throwing my interest in. syas my phone is not sopported as well. also remeraber the lady that set my phone up at the store naming it "qualcom something or other".

From my understanding is only available to certain native cricket phones for $5 extra a month is supposed to be unlimited to download as many videos as you want as long you have enough memory; unless someone finRAB out a hack around it..

Also working around video all day, what format could it possible be in to bind solely to specific phones? I bet if you sign up it works on a winmo phone.

I just tried to do it on my VX6800 cause i got the email that its up and it says my phone is not supported, the e-mail said that Only Motorola phones can do this right now, however that CPE phones might be able to view video, so right now you can count the VX6800 PDA out of this list of phones.

P.S Edit
LG VX10000 (Voy ) is also a phone that cant do it

If you get Schaps Advanced Config from XDA developers
Or KaiserTweak
You can change your browser string to match that of a motorola phone
At which point it will pass off to the service that your phone is a moto v3 or whatever amd as long as youve got TCPMP or Coreplayer you should be able to download and view the video
I dont have cricket so I cant test this
But someone let me know if that works for you

For those of you who have recently been upgraded to EVDO and are wanting to use video on your windows mobile phone or any phone that supports windows media or real media. I have found a very easy non technical way to do this. Download Orb to your machine and install it. Set the streaming ports 8080 and you are good to go. You can now stream any video off your computer or from the video sites you can search through via Orb (which are all the major ones). Please repost! I went through a lot of forums before finally guessing my way through it.

When I try to go to directly to youtube now that I'm on EVDO it says I don't have flash, which I do. When I was on 1X I could go to youtube and use a video downloader. Granted it took 5 minutes to download a 3 minute video but I could do it. I'm assuming something in the EVDO proxy is different than in the 1X proxy because I can still bust myself down to 1X and go to all the sites I'm unable to in EVDO. Also I can't stream music from SomaFM like I was able to on 1X. With all that being said Orb works GREAT! For more information just look at my previous post.

Make sure you have Flashlite 3.1...and even if you do have this it isn't proven to work. You have to use it with the newest version of Opera Mobile. It most certainly will not work on a Touch or a Mogul and it might work on a Touch Pro.

if you are using wifi, you can use skyfire browser...

best mobile browser ever...you can get the beta free and it plays flash, streaming video, and anything else just like from your pc...

i say use over wifi because it does not yet support proxy connections...

Are you saying that flash should work through Cricket's EVDO proxy because flash worked fine on 1X so that wouldn't make a whole lot of since based on what I've seen. If I go to youtube via my wifi connection flash still works fine. Either way though I like how Orb compresses the video it's much more suited for my phone than going directly to the video site. Also I've discovered vTap which is very streamlined way of watching videos. It's easier to use than Orb but the quality is much lower for some reason. On another note while Skyfire does sound pretty awesome I'm referring specifically to video over cricket internet.

If there's one thing I don't miss, it's that proxy. I guess there's a longer list that includes paying a bill, too. Seriously though, if this bad boy wasn't free, I would be sitting on Cricket still.
