"Mobile Suit Gundam 00" on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday Series Talkback (Spoilers)

It's those Canuck accents, they make everyone sound so calm and mellow! Or maybe it's just a Vancouver thing, the guys from Calgary and Toronto don't like that.
 
1. Setsuna has zealotry but little else on his resume. He broke cover to a major political leader, and almost got his ass kicked by a Cancer suit of all things. Celestial Being should really put out an ad in the newspaper or something.

2. Sumeragi is hot, cool under pressure, and not stuck up in her spot. Better character than some others. Hard drinker though. Piloting ship drunk?

3. Haro's a little smartass, isn't it? If it keeps talking back, someone might just use it as a soccer ball.

4. This little terrorist group subplot has made things quite interesting. Usually, the big politico talk results in long episodes of babble with Moribito esque pacing. 00 has avoided that so far thankfully.
 
Personally, to me, it's like their voices echo, only there's no echo, if that makes any sense. That's how a lot of them sound. Death Note's dub, again, dodged that aspect of Ocean dubs, but it looks like Gundam 00 is falling flat on its face in that regard.

Dobson really neeRAB to work on his Graham yell or the voice director neeRAB to realize Graham should sound like a manly adult when he's yelling. Graham sounRAB okay otherwise, but his yelling and "emoting" is off.

To quote GWOtaku, "Marina sounRAB divine". Looks like she was casted well. Soma sounRAB good as well. The women/girls in general seem to be better-casted than the guys. Even Lisa Ann Beley's Murrue-er, Sumeragi sounRAB pretty good, she's using a deep, mature voice that cracks a bit like she's starting to wear her voice out, which suits Sumeragi quite well.

I. Hate. Matt. Hill's. Stuffy-Nosed. Voice. He made me want to offer Kira a tissue to blow out his nose, and now he makes me want to give Saji cold medicine.

Of course they're dead, they got hit by a particle beam cannon. No one could surrive a direct hit by a particle beam cannon! No One!

I haven't been into Gundam in a long time and I'll say that I was quite impressed with the first two episodes. Whoever said that the show has a slow start is wrong! ...or maybe the show was slow but I didn't notice.

Every character looks so feminine. After all the anime I've seen, I'm going to assume that all the characters are dudes!
