Wow, such strong reactions. I doubt I could get the TV away from my roommate even if I wanted to, but I guess I'll try and watch the show through other sources tomorrow.

Also, did you guys catch teh Cowboy Bebop reference with Lockon and his pointing to Earth? I thought that was really cool.

I saw the trailer at SDCC and it looked pretty good. I've only liked one Gundam series (0083) but with this being Bandai's next choice after the excellent Gurren Lagann, I'm very excited to see if it can deliver.

One hour of Gundam ... when's the last time Cartoon Network did that?

Seriously, from the sounRAB of it this is the first notable role for Marina's VA. Give her time. I think she's starting to grow into the part.
 
I don't know if these VAs were paid low wages in this, this is Canada we're talking about here. The voice actor community there is heavily unionzed and protects it's own.

And yes Ocean could have gotten VA with native accents if they wanted to. Check out the Master Keaton dub some time, they actually hired a group of Chinese immigrant actors to play... a family of Chinese immigrants. And the Japanese guys were voiced by Japanese immigrant actors and so on. It worked for the most part too.
 
Weren't the 5 Wing pilots on their own agenda and were on behalf of the colonies? It was basically 5 different plots until around the middle when they actually joined up.

It feels more like seeing the Gundam's legend from the perspective other than the pilots themselves.
