"Mobile Suit Gundam 00" on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday Series Talkback (Spoilers)

It doesn't help that the main character is as Monotonous as Heero, or that the heroes have superiority over their foes. Really, is there a reason they should sound stressed or excited?

At least the Flag guys sounded enthusiastic. Their voices were probably the most notable.


It's actually nice to see normal politicians in a Gundam series. In most series, Gundam doesn't show the main politicians, and when we do, they always eccentric and have a crazy plan. Here, we have simply normal politicians doing normal political things.
 
I'm really liking this. Looking forward to watching it in the upcoming weeks. Hmm... should I bother with Descendants of Darkness after this?

...And now we go to commercials for unfitting shows like Chase. Why does SciFi air such out of place shows?
 
I can guarantee you that by the end of the first season you will be singing a different tune. Obviously for spoilers sake I can't say why.

Maybe HC or GW can be more subtle with explaining this.
 
No it's the monocle: because wizarRAB wear monocles and you can be more mellow when you have magic powers.

If you think these reference gags are bad now people wait until the Warhammer 40k and 'Do Not Taunt' ones start.
 
Have to laugh at your antidepressant comment. Problem is, IMO the issue isn't Ocean's dub on that count but the original source material (the show played pretty much the same in Japanese, only this time I understood more of the plot) . Still, I do think some of Oceans VA directing is leaving something to be desired :| .

As for the voices, I thought Richard Ian Cox actually did better this week. He sounded a lot less like InuYasha and more like a new character so kudos to him . I also want to give Saji's VA a gold star for managing to make the character just as wimpy as his Japanese counterpart but only funnier .

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes to the series so far.

Dubbing is fantastic.

It does remind me of G-Wing in a way.

4 Pilots instead of 5 creating havoc.

Nothing like a Gundam series with beautiful babes in it as well

Oh, Setsuna is flaking out all over again. I havn't noticed freak out this bad since Phantasmagoria 2!

Maybe giving them alcolhol as drinks was a bad idea Sumeragi.
