"Mobile Suit Gundam 00" on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday Series Talkback (Spoilers)

It's been awhile since I've stayed up for an actual episode instead of watching it in the morning- but these 4 deserve it. Lockon's death in Japanese was bad enough, it was even harder watching it for the second time last night. Although, I don't think it was as gutwrentching as the first because I knew what to expect and when it was coming.
"Lockon. Lockon.Lockon.Lockon" oh Haro. *breaks out the tissues again* He was such a hero. And poor Tieria! (and Feldt too of course). But at least we can say that Lockon helped him become more like a 'human' rather than a Veda driven shell.

Alejandro emerdges as a total ****** in his flyinggolden penisship. Yes. That is what it is. Full of his giant ego.
Chris and Lichty =[. I wish they hadn't cut his speech, but I guess they're pinned for time and all. Still...it was important! At least give a dying man some screen time.

For the record, Brad Swalie is a maniac screamer. Next week is a doozy. I'm going to attempt to stay up again and watch.

One thing I like about 00 is that it takes different views of how the Gundams effect society. We have the big wigs in the government, we have military personnel and ace pilots. Kinue covers the media's view of everything. We even have the Gundam Meisters themselves, as well as a few other merabers of CB. And then we have the civilian side: Louise and Saji.

We've seen the two live pretty normal lives, dealing with small problems and what not. Their view of world events is pretty much from a distance, seemingly not affecting affecting lives, except on two occasions: the elevator accident and that terrorist borabing. Now, the crud has hit the proverbial fan as the real world has basically hit them like a mack truck. Both of them have now been dragged into tradgedy by Gundams and it'll be interesting to see how this affect future plotlines.

Why Kim Kim didn't air it.

"Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back." We missed you Gundam. And way to start by pwning mecha from Command and Conquer. Do they destroy an Atlas next time?

Darn, I see they cut some material again, here's what people mostly missed.Christina's comment about her dinner comes from a cut scene where she was eating in the same room as Setsuna and Tieria, who were completely silent and stoic and not saying a word. Awkwaaaard! Not all of the Lockon/Feldt conversation made it. We basically come a good ways into it. Feldt is crying all by herself and Lockon comforts her, and she reveals that today was the anniversary of the day her parents died. They were Celestial Being merabers, but data about them is kept so confidential that Feldt doesn't even know how they died. Likewise, the Meisters do not know the pasts of any of the other pilots either. So, Lockon revealing his identity to Feldt is a pretty significant gesture.

So does this mean you are giving up on the series because the characters aren't drawn more "realistic" and less fanservice-y? Not that it's an issue for you to drop a series. People drop them all the time. Just want to make sure I'm reading what you said correctly though, especially since there are only seven episodes left.

Also, who really cares about fanservice now adays? Show me a series that doesn't have characters with an ample bosom, and doesn't involve the characters looking all loli-like.

No, Nena would not know better. Apparently there is some novels in Japan that explain what the Trinity siblings really are, and without giving away too much right now, it's very easy to see why they turned out to be nutcases.

I agree with this statement a lot, though said a bit ago. While I like Setsuna he really hasn't been shown to be a talented pilot. We know he thinks he is a gundam, but you are right, if he didn't have a Gundam I'm not sure he would survive.

Damn. I hate Nena and her brothers. To kill someone on their wedding day and one of survivor losing not only her family but her hand as well is pretty despicable. Setsuna better "arms intervene" their asses in the next episode .

Oh and Happy Haro and Angry Haro interaction was pretty funny .

19.
The music at the beginning of this episode totally sets it off right. I love how the Trinity Siblings are in shock that the miesters are actually attacking them. It's funny to see them freaking out so much, considering their egos. Setsuna's just like "you is no gundam!" bang bang bang.
I wish they had been shot down right then and there, to be honest. Nena is an annoying brat and I'll pay somebody to shut Michael up. He's like the impulsive ******bag brother that gets himself into trouble but then blames it on other people. Kind of like the 'Patrick' of the siblings except he's more of a homicidal idiot and Patricks kind of sweet in a cooky sort of way.

It's awesome to see Tieria and Setsuna fighting together, especially after how distant Tieria's been most of the season... somebody must be melting his cold, icy heart... *cough* Lockon *cough. Speaking of that relationship, it's revelation time! for Lockon who finRAB out that Setsuna was apart of the group that killed his family. I'm surprised to see how he handled it though. Despite the fact that he could have easily pulled the trigger and killed his comrade, Lockon takes the highroad out and enRAB up laughing at Setsuna's "I AM GUNDAM" catch phrase. He's such a big brother- subject to anger, but eventually levels out and calms down. That's exactly the way he should have acted. There's nothing wrong with being pissed off in the moment, but what's done is done and Setsuna isn't that same person anymore. Interesting to see how he was willing to die however, so Lockon could continue changing the world in his absence.
