"Mobile Suit Gundam 00" on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday Series Talkback (Spoilers)

I don't know, I think both Ali and Nena have their supporters. I know there are places that Nena is still worshipped, despite her actions. Same goes for Ali. There's no talking these pockets down.

However, at times there does seem to be a disturbing trend of people hating one and not the other.

I would also submit that part of the outrage is that Ali was always slated as a villain, while Nena saved a protagonist and was set-up to be an ally of the protagonists. There's a betrayal element that just isn't there for Ali.

She blew up an entire wedding party simply on a whim and then laughed about it. Quite frankly, no matter her past it doesn't justify what she did. A crappy or abusive past isn't a get out of jail free card for malicious behaviour.

Is it just me, or did the way episode 20's opening played out make it sound like Louise committed suicide because of the failed regeneration of her hand?(They've even come that far in this future too, huh?)

Ali sounRAB like he's the Rau le Crueset of this series. I wonder if Kinoue really is dead though.
The scene kinda reminded me of Togusa in Stand Alone Complex. Then again I saw another female stabbing earlier on 24 and I'm very sure she bought it.
So with Macross Plus finishing (again) tonight, we get four Gundam 00s next Monday, right?

The IRA had stopped already in our time. But 00 was talking about the "Real IRA", which is an entirely separate group, who DOES exist, and has not yet disarmed in our current time.

Yay, I'm excited for this. The trailer didn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in the dub, but I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't want to be hearing nothing but Light whenever Setsuna speaks, but worse things could happen I suppose.

*crosses fingers*

Oh, and Richard Cox, don't let me down!

What?

How can you say 00 is "more real and grounded than wing ever was", when you watch it and cant help but to say "Wow, its just like Wing". Wing is a great series, theres alot that goes one than "one army fighting another army." If you really sit down and watch, there is alot that goes on. Wing is a well grounded series if you really watch it.

00 is just a redone version of Wing, kinda like how Seed is just a redone version of the original MSG. I mean watch the first 5 episodes of Seed and the original, there just about the same type of plot/story/intro to the series.

Now watching 00, i wanna rewatch Wing again. Gah, need to do that...

Who's extremely extremely excited for this? I AM I AM! Nothing is better than Gundam 00 twice a week, two days in a row! (that's if you're also currently watching season 2).
Bring on my Setsuna! *whistles*
So although the dub might not have sounded amazing in the trailers, I know already that I've fallen in love with Lockon's voice.

6 Eps in and so far my favorite Gundam meisters are Lockon and Alli, Setsuna might grow on me but not totally fond of him atm and Tieria? UGH, smug straight to the books sob so far that i dislike :P Heck my favorite character so far ain't even one of the Gundam Meisters, its Graham.

But civillian casualties have been mentioned. I believe back when the Gundams attacked Moralia, the news reported that stray shots and such damaged buildings nearby and claimed civillian casualties.

Clearly Celestial Being can't be easily defined.

First Graham was intrigued by the Gundams' abilities, and then his war against them got personal with the death of his men. Hence that line about going beyond love and arriving at hatred. That's how I interpret it, anyway. He had a literal love/hate attitude toward Exia at the end.

Edit: Remeraber that question from Feldt about whether Setsuna had anyone to write a letter to? Well, there it is...

Whoa, Corner has a Golden Gun! He is a Bond Villian!

So the Founder of CB had been in a deep sleep, in his secret moonbase, which also houses his supercomputer that continues to plot out his centuries long plan to change the world...
Man, I thought conspiracy theories were nuts.

So the true secret of the GN drive is the technology of a 20th century Pontiac Firebird?

Stray shots, but that does occur during wartime. However, CB or the PMC Trust/AEU forces never intended for those shots to get directed at civilians. War sadly takes more lives than intended, by both sides.

Now, if CB had deliberately fired those shots to inflict civilian causalities, then that would be more definitive.

No, but through discussion we come to some sort of consensus.
