"Mobile Suit Gundam 00" on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday Series Talkback (Spoilers)

It's the year 2307 A. D. Fossil fuels are now extinct, and mankind has shifted its focus to solar power. Only the three big nations- the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (formerly the USA), the Human Reform League (Russia, China, and India), and the Advanced European Union have access to this free solar power, and they are making other nations either die so they can take control of them or making them enter into alliances. Needless to say there's a lot of resentment, and war continues to reign supreme. One group is determined to stop it all though. They are the mysterious organization known as Celestial Being, and with their advanced robotics known as Gundams on their side, they are about to change the world upside down. This is the official talkback for the entire Mobile Suit Gundam 00, debuting tonight on Sci Fi's Ani-Monday line-up.

The action starts at 11 PM ET with the first two episodes:
1) "Celestial Being"
2) "Gundam Meister"

[Tieria and Setsuna are sitting in opposite sides of the briefing room going over the next mission]
Setsuna: *hums a little ditty*
Tieria: [Looks over to Setsuna, goes back to the briefing docs]
Setsuna: [starts singing the ditty] Look at this. Look at that. What's that? It's Pat!
Tieria: [walks over to Setsuna] *PIMP SLAP* Commissar Pat!

Now does everyone get this picture ?

Kyaaa, looking forward to this. Hopefully the trepidation some of us felt when we first saw the trailers and cast list is unfounded.

I never watched Destiny besides the first few episodes, partly because of how hated it seems to be and partly because I wasn't much of a fan of the first Seed to begin with. And yeah, Mu was the most awesome character in the show, that's for sure.

On the DirecTV guide, it's listed as "Mobile Suit Gundam 00". And, Sci-Fi's "NOW/NEXT" crawl just calls it Gundam.

No, dude, you are going to pay the price.

Mu and Kamina would be great frienRAB

I've said this before but I've never actually finished a Gundam series for various reasons (though I hope I can finish this one and Turn A) however, when it came to Destiny I personally stopped at episode 40 or so because the plot just got stupid and I just read the rest of it on wikipedia. It didn't even look like it had a good ending. Ironically, before "Ash Like Snow" came out, I thought that Destiny had some of the best OP's ever. "Ignited" and "Wings of WorRAB" (Yes, I actually like that song) still plays in my head every now and then

(While I'm thinking of "Ignited" can you believe the amount of YT videos crossing over that song with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha?)

I actually think you're pretty exact here. There are specific things about a characters voice or personality that don't come across as strong as they do in the sub, one example being Al and the fact that he sounRAB too gruff for his character [at least in my eyes]. Where's the sensitivity? Sergei sounRAB like he's aged way too much.
These little things aren't THAT essential to understand the story, but make it at least a smidge more enjoyable when you get them. I'm hoping that as we go on, the dub gets better [not that its totally bad now or anything] and the VA's settle more into their roles. HC has a point when he comments about the casting process. Sometimes it feels like they picked the first person to slightly peak their interest regardless of if it fits or not.
Graham wasn't too terrible this time around, and the only serious problem I have is Saji. It's like the kid has no testicles what so ever.
mmmmmmmmm Setsuna. *pokes him* He's been through a mental hell more often than not =[ His social awkwardness is so cute
Soma sounRAB pretty interesting. I do believe I like it.

They pick names by drawing Straws.
Agh..
Patrick...

WOO!
She does need a drink.

Lockon: Oh he's plenty grateful, in fact Setsuna is obsessed with everything about the Exia.
Setsuna: Exia... my Gundam *Orgasms*

You have a point there, but keep in mind that Kyrios was basically borabing targets that had no truly effective means of fighting back. I think your argument is valid, but it's also understandable why Alleujah would feel like a bully.

So, this was a pretty crazy week. But I don't believe any of the episodes from tonight can collectively match up to next weeks finale. It's my most watched episode by far, and for good reason. Do not miss it, by any means.

Now for season 2....I'm saying we'll see it by mid-summer, if not sooner.
