Mobile phone provider question?

This may very well seem like a really stupid question, but I just got a Nokie 6303 (second hand) and bought a t-mobile sim for it, which is working fine (I haven't topped up and tried to send texts/make calls yet). However, when I turn it on or off, it comes up saying "O2" before it turns on/off. Will it work with credit and everything? Thanks
 
It will work. The O2 welcome screen is part of the 'phone's branding, it must have been sold on this network originally e.g. my phone has a Vodafone section in the menu screen which would remain even if I unlocked the phone and used it on Orange.

If you are using T-Mobile now it will carry on working. If you want to unbrand your phone there are plenty of websites that tell you how to do this.
