Mobile Email Application issue

So, I am now officially a Cricket subscriber with the new Motorola Hint! So far I love the phone but I am having a problem with the Mobile Email application. No matter which account I try I receive the message "Authenticating Account" followed by the error "Communication error. Please try again later." after about 20 seconRAB. This has been happening for the past two days so I no longer think it is a temporary issue.

Is there a special feature that hasn't been added to my account that enables email access? internet, MMS, text, voice -- everything else is working perfectly. I have also tried deleting the application and downloading it again to no avail. I am positive that my username and password are correct too as I have tried with Yahoo, Gmail, and Other.

Any ideas?
 
Check to make sure that anything in your password neeRAB to be capitalized is, since it is case sensitive. The e-mail part is still free, or was as of monday before I switched to a plan that has it on it, so nothing should need to be changed.

Perhaps dial *228 and update your info one more time (just tossing out a bone here, no idea really)

Maybe remove and reinstall the e-mail app if that doesn't work, or check for a update?
 
Still no luck with this, even after an account refresh. I'm going to take it into a corporate store today and see if they can figure it out.
 
I have already tried this as well. I still haven't found time to visit a corporate store but I have:

- Deleted and redownloaded the application
- Tried multiple email addresses and passworRAB (all of which I know are correct)
- Had my account "refreshed"

Again, everything else on the phone is working (including EVDO Internet) and I love it. Hopefully they can figure this one outstanding issue out.
 
When I had my jetset I had this same exact problem. I was told to go to a Cricket store but never found the time. That should fix your problem though.
 
:) Well, I haven't had a dropped call yet and I get solid reception everywhere so far. But you're right, I should probably save the "very, very" for when email is working.
 
yhike, yeah that might be the case. I'm in the Salt Lake City market. The banner that they had in the store listed "Mobile Email" as an included feature in their $50 and $60 plans though and the employees certainly seemed to be under the impression that it should be working.

Can anyone confirm whether or not Mobile Email is available in Salt Lake City?
 
For those of you who have this working, would you mind posting the list of features that your account has on the My Account page on mycricket.com?

More and more it seems like a feature code is missing from my account.

Could it perhaps be that email is not available in your town? From what I understand it's only available in certain markets right now. If you know it is for certain...then check under your account and look for email listed. If it's not...call cricket and tell them to add it to your features.
 
Yesterday I received a phone call on my cell from a nuraber that I didn't recognize. When I picked it up the guy identified himself as a Cricket network engineer and said that they had resolved the issue with Mobile Email on my account. He told me to try it after we hung up to ensure that it was working and then gave me a direct phone nuraber where I could reach him. He asked me to call him back and let him know.

Mobile Email is now working perfectly. I called him back and thanked him for his help and he was happy to hear that it had been fixed. To be honest, I was not expecting such fantastic customer service. I am pleasantly surprised and a very satisfied Cricket customer.

If you're having issues with Mobile Email, I would encourage you to go into a corporate store and have them submit a trouble ticket for you. They really work!
