MMS Not Working (More Info)

Well it looks like this thread finally puts a cap on the MMS problems everyone has been having including me.

Can one of you brave souls put all the MMS troubleshooting steps into one thread in the PDA forum? (Including how to setup ArcSoft, all the proper registry settings, etc.)

I would but I'm a little worn on writing tutorials for now. ;)

Its on a few v3ms......and yeah I know what mean when they are messing up their settings. I had this one guy come back and tell me I had sold him a broken phone within 24 hours of selling it to him cuz his phone wouldnt make calls or receive them anymore. Dum*** had set the line to his 2nd nam instead of having it on the regular one. It was funny as f*** to see his face when I showed him how simple the fix is and I told him to just stay out of that whole menu completely.

Ok this is going to be a Hybrid question, so i thought i post it here, (Phone and PDA question that is on the same topic)

I have noticed that for the last week or so maybe longer my MMS has not been working at all on my VX6800, i did everything from having my account refreshed so on and so on, i even reflashed my phone with the Sprint ROM which reset everything even the PST stuff then i used the to0g rom and changed all the stuff back MMS worked for 1 or 2 days, not well but it worked, now its like worse then befor, Then i have noticed that all the other Cricket phones that i have flashed have stoped working, ie Moto V3m's LG VX8500, Moto Q's and Moto E816 etc, they have all worked befor just fine but there no longer working, i flashed my Cuzen a Q and a Moto E816 MMS worked fine for them for like 24hrs and now it stoped working 100% and it seems that all phones that have been flashed to cricket have stoped working, the MMS side for me at least, I know OTA has been having problems etc, but i dont get why flashed phones MMS wont work but WAP and Clicks work just fine. the odd thing is that my Dad's new phone the V3m his Cricket WAP MMS and Clicks work just fine np on his end. I talked to JamJam and he said all his phones that he has been flashing are also having problems as well and there just as bad as mine if not worse.

I asked around if cricket was maybe blocking flash phones via the MMS profile since ive seen that most phones have or call apon a MMS profile, ie Http://mms.mycricket.com/mms/V3c.xml. is that possible? and if so is there a way around that or im i just in over my head and just cricket is having problems with there MMS.

Yes i did check my registey and ther ok from what i can see, ill try a differnt rom, just odd tho cause it was working just fine befor until like last week, so it just seems odd, I know that the Moto Q and a Moto E816 MMS are not working, and all there settings are correct , I know JamJam did a LG VX8500 which we know are easy to mod, and those are even having problems, ill go back and try that register key that you said to change, and see if it helps any.

yeah...i was at a corporate store one day about 5 mins b4 it opened and a guy was waiting out there with his phone...he said that his phone broke and it couldn't get any signal...i looked at it and turned off the "flight mode" setting...there it was...why would you even click on flight mode if you don't know what it is??? we need to medicate these folks a little more or a little less, i'm not sure which one.

The main problem is that the MMS doesn't need the proxy as is on the cricket server, so try to find any connection made to wap.mycricket.com on the registry and delete it but first do a backup.
I bet that this is your problem.

Well right now befor i made any changes all my pending out going MMS where all sent, im still waiting for the other phones to recive them, i sent some from the other phones too, (Helio,AT&T,MetroPCS) so im seeing which one will get here 1st, somehow i dont think none of them will, I will also look into what you are saying, and yeah, i already made a backup of the phone registery.

Sidenote: i did go into registery and change the phone profile on the MMS to http://mms.mycricket.com/v3c.xml lol to see if it would help out or not most likly its not going too but we shall see

I had a problem with my 6800 mms not working when I first got it. I have since switched to VV's Cricket rom and now it works almost perfectly (sometimes I have to soft reset and it will start working again).

But every other phone I've flashed w/ wap and picture messaging is still working fine. Sometimes though the 10digit#@mycricket.com changes to 10digit#@vzw.com and i have to change it back but other than that everything works for me.

I'm in the nashville area.

I've never been able to get a V3m to work w/ mms using the alltel flash so i've always had to flash it to the v3c.

Cricket has this new thing when activating a phone that if it's not a regular cricket phone you put the model of the phone in (say it's a chocolate you put vx8500) maybe they started incorporating this so they COULD start blocking picture messaging on flashed hanRABets...

just my 2 cents

hey man...i'm gonna write it up tonight.

i'm buried in skewl work so if you could shoot me a reminder, i'd appreciate it...if not, then i'll surely remeraber at some point.

it'll be a nice break from the 17 chapters i have to read in 4 different classes to catch up b4 all my tests start rolling in on tuesday...5 online quizes by monday...a QDM (quantitative decision making) project by tomorrow and a web design project by tomorrow...

*edit* oh yeah, a systems analysis and design assignment by friday (oops...almost forgot that one).

man- i really put everything off untill the last minute!!! :silly:

But why just MMS and not wap tho mmmmm maybe i should look into the profile thing, but i did that on some phones and it still did not work tho, ill do some more reserach on that btw on the V3m use the OEM flash that helps out a lot

Anyone have a flashed v3m with fully functional mms that could send me their mms file from their phone and see if that helps or any other suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks.

didn't i send you a mms file???

that one works everytime for me...if you are not getting evdo with that, then not sure that any setting chage is going to work for you...

being serious, i have flashed over 20 v3m's with that file...all work great with mms.

Would i have to make a new profile just for MMS with port 80?

Also for the flashed phones would i have to do that as well changed it to 80 and not 8080?

Nope. I think you're confusing me with someone else from a different thread. I don't know which one exactly but I know I seen you offer it to someone else just not me. Could I get it though to give it a shot and see what happens?

Did you try adding the exceptions as casyor2000 suggesested?
At first mine didn't work either until I added mms.mycricket.com/* but after I added that it's working fine.

I'm not sure about that registry key though, I've never tried that.

Yep i get that or it says forbidden, on the PDA side, on the phones side, it just says unable to send what so ever, im going to get a E816 from my cuzen and see if her MMS is working etc, i still have one left at the store, and a Moto Q and a K1m, im going to try MMS on the k1m with the OEM flash then going to Cricket Flash it and see what happens, test it out etc, but yeah something is up and i dont know what it is, unless OTA being down has done something to MMS. I will ask and i hope that Jammis post more info on what he is having over there, Cricket either neeRAB to fix there problem or just go back to a Closed network. or maybe hire all of us and pay us good money to support flashed phones. now there is an idea lol.
