Not having been a BEV subscriber during last summer, I wonder if anyone can give me an idea what the package cost was last year? BEV does not have 2008 prices yet and I am trying to get an idea of what I have to let my wife buy so she will let me subscribe in return...grin.

BEV didn't offer the MLB package until mid season last year, so the price last year was a special half season price. I don't remember the exact price, but I believe I paid about $120. Just guessing, but I would expect to pay close to $200 this season.

I called BEV today about my NCAA package (canceling after the season) and asked about the MLB pricing. The rep checked off the phone and came back to tell me that it was $99 for the season. Now I questioned him again about the price but he insisted this is the rate for the 2008 season. That sure sounds low and before I jump on it am going to wait until the season gets closer. I have to believe that price is wrong.

It might have been an agent that came to EV when they had MID-SEASON offer, and since that was the price he saw back then that's what he informed you...

Unfortunatly I do not recall the price it was at last summer..only had 1 client that called me to add it!

Also I can say that agents are not informed ahead of the price of sports package. They can not therefore tell you what would be the price next season. They will only know a few weeks before season starts, when clients that had the package, which is, by the way, automatically renewed if you don't call to cancel it before the date on the letter, received the renewal letter

Since ExpressVu only offered the package for a half season last year at a special price, would they still be able to automaticaly renew, when this year it's a full season with probably double the price.

Anyway, I received no letter last year when I bought the package, so I have no info on automatic renewals. Are you supposed to receive a letter? I know that the NFL Sunday Ticket automaticaly renews, and is advertised that way. MLB Extra Innings was not

That $99 price sounds like a mistake.

In the past MLBEI has only showed regular season games. I doubt they will start showing spring training games.

Thanks for the information EV! The only way to find out is wait until the season start is just about upon us. And I had no idea that the NCAA package auto extended unless BEV is notified. The agent I spoke with advised to wait until the end of March when the season is over. I suspect that if I tried now, I could very likely see them pull the plug in error before the season ended.

I suspect that so many local networks in the teams home towns show games that MLB does not have the authority to show them. IOW, local TV contracts and commitments.

After checking with a number of agents at various times this past week, all came back with the $99 price tag. One was quite sure of the price and when questioned stated that it was for more than 60 games a week which sounds right. This just might be a promotional price to draw customers and at $99 I am subscribing for sure...when I can confirm and they take orders.

When you suscribe to ANY BEV Sports package (NFL Sunday Ticket, NHL Center ICE, Nascar, Portugese soccer, MLB Innings) the package is automatically renewed new season. A few week before the season starts you will receive a letter. They will tell you that package is automatically renewed unless you call before X date. If you didn't call you get the package

60 games a week doesn't seem like a whole lot. If each team plays on average 6 times a week there should be 90 games a week. Do they really not show 1/3 of the games?

I had the same package when I with the cable company and they do not show every game of every team. I suspect that is because teams have a small percentage of games that are broadcast by local channels rather than ESPN and the like. Still 60 games is somewhat better than 8 games a night and even though I am a baseball junkie, that is more than enough for me to watch.

I agree but I tend to wager on a lot of games during the summer and obviously i want to be able to see the games I bet on. I have had it on cable for the last 3 years and I'd have to say the % of games shown is more like 95%. The only games that really aren't shown are some weekday afternoon games. But then again Cogeco's guide is so messed up you literally have to flip through all the channels and write down what channel each game is on. Their Super Sports Pack guide hasn't been correct in 2+ years.

The price is not $99. That was the mid season price as of June 2007. The price for the new season has not been released(since BEV doesnot have any control over that). The CSRs will not have details about the price or what is included in the package. Reg. season begins March 31st I wouldnt call before the 25th you will only get incorrect information.

The full package for $159.00 (4 instalments of $39.75). See http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpPromo_Tv_mlboffer.page

How in the world did you find that page? I have searched all over their site and still could not find it. The kind folks at BEV don't seem to have that information yet but if I read it correctly, March 15th is the earliest order date. Thanks.

When you press info on channel 485 it says Get up to 60 games a week, but on the website it says enjoy up to 1400 games. At 25 weeks, I got 1500 games. Which is it?

You are going to lose about 4 days or so games around the all star game. Also I believe that Monday/Tuesday (depending on a teams schedule and travel distance) are travel days for the league so there are fewer games on. And it does say up to 60 which means it could be 55 or 50 in any given week. Personally 1400 games in 25 weeks works for me. Just get the season started...sorry my baseball geekness just made an appearance.
