Hi Everyone,

Just placed my order for MLB EI (I cancelled at the end of last year and had a change of heart) and wanted everyone to know that they cut down their HD channels down to 3 this year (Ch. 881-883). Does anyone remember how many they had last year? BTW price is still the same at $159 for earlybird.

Thanks

here is the e-mail response that I recieved:

"Dear Mr. P*******,

Thank You for your question in regards to blackout restrictions for Major League Baseball Extra Innings. Blackout rules are set to ensure that if a game is played in your local market that you use your local television provider to view those games. Seeing that you live in Ontario, Canada your local blackout team market included the following

-Toronto Blue Jays

With your current television provider, you listed Bell TV. Toronto Blue Jay games are made available on Rogers Sportnet and therefor will not be shown on Major League Baseball Extra Innings in your area. The Detroit Tigers are a Out Of Market team where you live, therefor you will not be affected by blackouts for Detroit Tigers Baseball games. We cannot promise you that you will receive the home broadcast games of the Detroit Tigers but you will be able to view either the home broadcast or the away broadcast involving Detroit Tigers Broadcasts.

I hope that I have been able to answer your question to your satisfaction, if not please feel free to again contact us to answer any more questions that you may have.

Enjoy The Season

11 of the 13 games in HD tomorrow is pretty good, hopefully they can keep a 8 game pace per night atleast as the season goes on.

I am puzzled it said in the guide free preview april 4 to the 10 how come it not on today should it not be expired on sunday

Last year from what I have seen in the old schedule, they had 6 channels. 881-886 were the HD channels. It is a little misleading because they never did show 6 HD games at once from what I remember. Also since games start at around 1 pm and continue into late night, you are actually getting more than 3 HD games a day. Still it is a loss of 3 HD channels overall. I have to believe that MLB is not a big demand package as say NFL or NHL. At this time of year, I will just be glad when the season starts. Winter is greatly overrated once you get past Christmas.

not to sure... i'm watching the tigers game right now... but then again a ordered the package.

Enjoyed the games today. Only 4 hd games for tomorrow (Apl. 6th) on Extra Innings according to the guide on Bell's website. Yankees @ Red Sox is on Rogers Sportsnet West HD.

It must have been a tech glitch it is back on now or they got the date mixed up wonder why it is not free on sunday the 11 of april since thre were no games on the fourth of april excpect the yankees and the redsox on sports net need a better job before ordering for the season i would like bell to go to one price for the extra sports stations like the cable company

1st day: 11 of 13 in HD
2nd day: 5 of 7 in HD
3rd day: 8 of 10 in HD

pretty good start eh

I was asking myself the same question. It's not even available in SD...I checked the NESN website to see if the game was being broadcast and it is. I took the Extra Innings package exclusively to watch the Red Sox!

Hello there,

Not sure where it was heard there would be only 3 channels this year,
there will be 6 MLB HD channels, same as last season.

Enjoy.

The online guide tells me the Red Sox game is on 1486 tonight, but my receiver's guide says Mets-Marlins, which is what I am seeing. Anyone else not getting the Sox game?

EDIT: Could it be a blackout since I live in New Brunswick? I've read the blackout policy on MLB, but don't know what the "shared territory" with the Jays actually means....

The Yankees @ Red Sox game is on Rogers Sportsnet East ch. 406, but not on the hd ch. 1406 for some reason. That channel is black and not showing anything.

Cogeco is showing the Red Sox game on Extra Innings (NESN feed). So this must be a BELL TV problem.

is been a bad night tonight for baseball in Windsor Ont... all of the transponders for MLB EI aren't coming in but every other channel seems to be fine... hope its just the rain
