I'm a fairly new sub with Bell and wanted to know the process for signing up to MLB Extra Innings. Do I have to call it in or can I order straight from the remote? Do all the channels just appear in the guide one day before the season starts? Lastly, do they show spring training?

You can order the package either way, but not right now. This will become available when we get closer to the start of the season. From what I remember there are no spring training games. Once you become a subscriber, the available games show up in your guide. The hd games would only show up in your guide if you have a hd receiver.

Last years price was $159. There were 1400 sd games and 500 hd games. There was a very short (2 days) free preview.

MLB Extra Innings on Bell is not a watered down version compared to the US. It is probably cheaper in Canada due to not as much demand for it as in the US. Less people probalby subscribe to it in Canada so it is made cheaper to try to draw more interest. Much like NHL Centre Ice, Bell TV charges $200 for this package where in the US it is much cheaper. Again likely because hockey is at a higher demand in Canada then the US.

Thx Lars.
500 HD games is awesome! Can't wait to get MLB EI, it was my main reason for switching to Bell :p

I think the only difference between Bell's version and Directv is Directv has a multivu channel.

Hi, I followed the steps yesterday to order MLB Extra Innings through the IPG and it starts procressing but never completes the order. A message just pops up saying "can't complete transaction" or something to that effect. Anyone else try ordering this way? You should be able to order all the Premium channels in self serve manner such a Movie Central, NHL Center Ice etc. but this is the 1st time I tried ordering this way since I usually call in.
I guess I can call to order MLB EI but I am just curious as to why the self serve IPG method doesn't work?

I had the same issue with my 9200. I tried again on my 3100 and it worked. There must be a glitch with some software versions.

Directv can have 10 to 14 hd games in one day, while Bell shows about 4 hd games a day. I believe that's about as good as it gets for a Canadian provider. So you could say Bell's version of Extra Innings is watered down, compared to Directv.

Is MLB Extra Innings going to show pre-season games this weekend or it will all begin on monday? Strange that the free preview starts on sunday since Sportsnet will broadcast the openning night game from Philadelphia

500 aint that great considering 160 of them are probably jays games.

MLBEI on directv last year offered over half the games in hd.

There is still lots of room for improvement from bell

A couple of times last year MLBEI also aired the Sunday Night baseball game even though it was on Sportsnet.

Even better! 500 HD games from EI then whatever Sportsnet, WGN, etc offer.
I'm happy with that! Of course things will be better in the future when SD goes the way of the dinosaur!

I wish it was so ESPN but it isn't. Bell in past years broadcast on average 3 or 4 hd games a day. Somedays there was only 1 hd game, and once in awhile 5 or 6 hd games. Bell promises at least 500 hd games for the season. The season is 6 months long or about 180 days. At 10 hd games a day you would have 1800 hd games. Your claim of 10 to 13 hd games a day is incorrect, or not true what so ever. Bell's version of Extra Innings shows about 1400 sd games and 500 hd games for the season.

Has any one been able to find the scheduled games for MLB Extra Innings?

I like to know exactly what I am buying. I don't want to end up with a bunch of games of some teams I am not interested in.

I see a few games listed on the MLB channels for the next few day. The guide still doesn't conform to the guide standard so that one can search for games without getting big list of the off air stuff.

Last year I complained a number of times with no results. I asked that they set the actual games up prefixed with "MLB-" which can be used for searching games on other channels. They seem to use "MLB:" . The ":" is a non-searchable character and the search is performed as if it is "MLB" which results in a massive list of items in the guide.

Bell won't have an official schedule until Sportsnet makes their schedule official. So far they have only finalized the Jays games. For reference you can check Directv, they show every feed, Bell would show only 1 if they decide to carry that game.
I used the Directv schedule last year to see what game might be on and it was fairly accurate.

If any of you are interested, if you check bell.tv and the what's playing tonight section, they have all the HD games that there showing for monday - friday up

Saw a message on my program guide just a minute ago and it said there was going to be a free preview from the 5th to the 11th

ok maybe not my exgerated claim of '' 10 - 13 '' But looking at the sced last august and September, They were airing 9 - 10 games a day in HD, Granted some were joined in progress but i remember vividly they were airing the amount of games i listed above a day.
