How come they all have the same boring paint jobs? I remember last year there were some really good designs, much like hockey goalie masks. Is this some new stupid rule?
The catcher doesn't want to distract his pitcher with a flamboyant paint job on his mask. A slight distraction can make the difference between strike 3 or ball 4. The last thing a pitcher needs is their own catcher causing distractions.
