MJs death and the media before his death? help?

Ok, so i grew up after the huge mj days(im 16) and didn't really know much about mj other than his video thriller, him dangling his kids and being accused of raped. Before he died it seemed like when ever I was watching MTV or Muchmusic, there would be something negative on about him, they usually made fun of him....now in recent days they all have documentaries about him saying how he was a legend. but why are they doing all this now, when they never gave a shit about him before and just made fun of him. i think it was just to get ratings up, what do you think? also the radio stations around here are all constantly playing his music now but they never gave a shit about him before! it pisses me off everyones trying to make money off his death. RIP MJ, after watching all those documentaries, i found out he changed music and the world.
 
Hey so I grew up after MJ's huge days as well - which sucks if you ask me I would have loved to have seen him in his prime. So are they doing it for ratings? Well yeah maybe a little bit but I think that a lot of people are feeling pretty bad about how they treated Michael when he was alive. I mean you already know some of the vile stuff people said about him - without any proof I might add too. And it's only now that he's passed away that people have found the time to sit down and actually listen to what really happened. I don't think there's anything worse than guilt so those people who hated Michael when he was alive will have to live the rest of their lives knowing what they said about an innocent man. So that's why they're showing a whole heap of Michael Jackson concerts and documentaries - hoping that maybe if they pay their respects now they won't have to live with their guilt forever.

Perhaps i am just jaded but i think most of it is just cashing in on the dead artist table. This tends to happen. After Biggie died he suddenly released a new album. Posthumous fame is a funny thing. I personally never liked his music and i will not start now that he is dead. I am pretty sure all the tabloids featuring "the truth about the children" and "how much he payed off this family" articles are selling by the bundle. As humans we love to bask in the death of celebrities. It's kind of sick . . .

P.S. I may not like his music, but i respect him artistically. He did the damn thing.
