hello

my question is this:does anyone have or know if asthma can cause you to have a heart murmur and or mitro valve prolapse?I feel like I'm having episodes of severe lung congestion when I have hot flushes from menopause.I have been post menopausal for almost 3 years now.

so I am worried about the lung congestion I am experiencing.I read you can't use asthma medications if you have MVP(mitro valve prolapse).the episodes I have only last 5-10 minutes, but they are fierce and I almost feel like I can't breathe...it's really weird, but I noticed I have severe muscle weakness if I try to hold or carry anything even slightly heavy.:(

I have a neurologist appointment for March 8th...my dr. suggested it...I am also having stomach problems..if I eat too much the asthma acts up and I can't do much of anything with my arms/hanRAB(like vacuuming, dusting, lifting)or I feel congested.

Also I feel stiff under my right rib cage....lots of symptoms I know(lucky me).

I had a heart echo and heart stress test last month...showed a slight MVP(which was first dx in 2006)....

please help...I'm feeling very down and a bit overwhelmed...thanks much

No, asthma does not cause mitral valve prolapse (I assume you mean "mitral" not mitro). And you can certainly take asthma meRAB if you have mvp as I have for many years with no problems.

Am not sure why you are seeing a neurologist for asthma issues. You should be seeing a pulmonologist. And the feeling under the right rib may be gallbladder related.
Not sure what to say about the rest...sorry.
