Mission Impossible 4 Confirmed

It's been confirmed that Tom Cruise will return to play Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible 4 and will hit the flicks in 2011. I think 1 & 2 was ok, but 3 wasn't. A little far fetched flying a helicopter through the Channel Tunnel, but hey they can't be as good as the original.
 
I thought that M:I3 was the best of the lot, so i welcome this news. Glad they've got Tom Cruise back seeing as a few months ago it was rumoured that he wouldn't be in it due to his fall out with Paramount.
 
What are you talking about OP? MI:3 was leaps and bounRAB better than the first 2. Get a grip.

JJ producing and the Alias writers back again, no brainer, it will be awesome.

MI:3 was different gravy.
 
Eh? Brian DePalma's opus was vastly superior to the sequels. The first was spoiled by Woo's tired gunplay (which the original avoided), and second spoiled by Abrams ruining the series' playful conceits (from the man who created Lost, no less). Neither had M:I's sly mystique, tension, or memorable visuals. I appreciate that they were trying to make a different sort of film each time, but both reduced the whole set-up to mere standard action pieces.
 
I liked the first MI but was disappointed by the second film.However I loved the third film and thought it was the best one so far. Im so glad to see that there will be a fourth film especially as JJ Abrams is producing it as that man can do no wrong!
 
first one was great, fantastic end with the train and chopper (don't forget the dissapearing voight too :D ), and when the MI music cue comes in i ALWAYS turn up the sound for it!!!

the second one was weak, and far too strung out, with long lingering shots and not much storyline either

just watched the third one once, but was thoroughly enjoyable, with that epic start ending with that shocker :cry:
 
I respectfully disagree. The first was just ridiculous. The sly mystique and tension you talk about was just convoluted rubbish. Twists for the sake of twists. Mask after mask. The CIA break in was pretty cool though. The 2nd was just plain BAD.

At least the third had some heart to it, a little bit of realism (as far as you can with mission impossible) and the visuals were top notch. Stick with the style of the third, i say.
