Missing mouth muscle?

This is a question I may need to see a doctor on but I wanted to ask somewhere else first because I am in the military and pointing out medical issues is a no-no for me.

I finished a public speaking class recently and noticed that when I speak my mouth moves a bit different and I have trouble with some words. I have always been a mumbler and don't open my mouth nearly enough but during my speech class I was marked down for it.

Naturally curious I went feeling for the different muscles and noticed that I could feel the different ones on the chart except the buccinator, which just feels like a lump of skin separated by a little fat layer in between.

Do you all think this is a routine issue to just visit the doctor real quick?

Can you whistle? Smile? Do your cheeks touch your teeth when you're chewing (most of us will recall at least one time when we've bitten our cheeks whilst chewing... it's not fun)?

If you have answered yes to these questions, you have a buccinator muscle. You can't feel all of the muscles in the body (even the face) from the outside... it's not how we're designed.
