Missing court records?

I went to the court house to day to get a copy of the letter from my ex-wife doctor that her lawyer use in court saying she could not work, there is no record at the letter in the court records, How can the judge make a ruling on are case if there is no letter from the doctor, what course of action should I take with the court,
 
It's entirely possible that the letter did not make it into the court file. Ask the lawyer who was representing you if he/she has a copy. If not, get a copy of it from either your ex or from the doctor using discovery.
